Devastation For Pearlman, A Roman Has Taken Over

Level 27 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

On a turn reading Q76A, Cornel Cimpan was already all in from a prior street in a pot that had swelled to well over a million. Jennifer Pearlman went all in for her remaining chips and Cornel Roman was the only one left with a decision. Eventually he made his decision to call and destiny was just a river card away. If one of the gentlemen were to win, they would win the battle of the Cornels.

Cornel Cimpan: 89
Jennifer Pearlman: 77
Cornel Roman: AK

An incredible cooler of a board, as Cimpan had the open-ended straight flush draw, Pearlman had a set of sevens, and Roman had top pair with the nut flush draw.

None of the players seemed surprised by the others' hands and Pearlman immediately was attempting to hold, shouting, "No diamond! Pair the board!" as the anticipation built for the river. A sharp red river in the form of the 3 appeared and it was a dagger to the heart for Pearlman as Roman completed his flush, achieved a massive double knock out, and is now among the chip leaders.

Cuevas Says "Goaaall!"

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jaime "Jimmy" Cuevas went all in from early positon and was called by Christina Lopez on the button. Heads up, they were to run five cards.

Jaime Cuevas: 78
Christina Lopez: A3

An eight in the window looked favorable to Cuevas as the dealer spread 822, the 9 left Lopez looking for an ace, but Cuevas secured a double when the 4 rolled off.

Jokingly, Cuevas said, "Goaaaallll, let's go Jimmy!" and made mention that his wife was keeping up with the updates at home.

Thom Eliminates Lane, Crosses Four-Million Chip Mark

Level 26 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

The action picked up on the 6107 flop with a quick all-in and a call.

"Aw man, did you really flop a set?" asks Ronald Lane after his all in was snap-called by Matthew Thom.

Ronald Lane: QQ
Matthew Thom: 77

The answer was yes and the 10 turn and 2 river were no help to Lane, who headed to the payout desk.

A Boone, Indeed

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Lokesh Garg had all his chips in the middle and Shannon Boone put him at risk before the flop.

Lokesh Garg: KJ
Shannon Boone: KK

The flop brought the 6Q9, only giving Garg a gutshot to the straight. The sharp cry of a player out of the hand resounded as they clutched their neighbor, lamenting their fold.

The turn was the 8, changing nothing, and when the J hit the river, it locked up the hand for Boone. The player to her right was the one shouting and she went on to say she folded sixes, which she had a sneaking feeling about. If she had stayed in she would have won, but Boone had no worries about what could have been as she stacked the chips.

Boone has been among the chip leaders since early yesterday.
