Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Steve Hohn
Steve Hohn

Steve Hohn and another opponent called an all-in raise from a third player in the hand. The flop came with two diamonds, and Hohn bet, getting a fold from his opponent.

Hohn and the all-in player's hands were tabled. Hohn had {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, and his opponent had {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Hohn made his flush on the river to eliminate his opponent and scoop a sizeable pot.

Champlin Emerges as One of the Leaders

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Five players limped into the pot, including Benny Champlin in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, and the hijack bet. Only Champlin called after initially checking from the blinds. Champlin checked dark before the {10-Spades} dropped on the turn. His opponent tossed out 3,000. Champlin called. The {q-Diamonds} completed the board, and Champlin bet 6,500. His opponent thought for a minute, then moved all in for 10,000. Champlin called.

"King," said the hijack before tabling {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Champlin then rolled over his {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and took down the pot with two pair.

"I'm ready to go home," said the hijack before gathering his belongings and exiting the tournament floor.

"I said I'd get him back," added Champlin following the hand, stacking up his chips.

Patience the Key for Sallot

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Steve Sallot raised to 1,500 from middle position before the action folded around to the player in the big blind. He moved all in for 5,250. Sallot thought about his decision while he gathered the chips to call.

"You can just call and worry about the amount later," said Sallot's opponent. "Or you can take your time," he added when Sallot looked over at him.

Sallot called shortly thereafter, and the cards were tabled.

Sallot: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {3-Spades}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Sallot improved to a set of threes, sending his opponent to the rail.
