Hughes checked, Johnson bet 70,000, and Hughes called. Both players checked when the {3-Spades} hit the river. Hughes tabled {q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of nines with a queen kicker and Johnson showed {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for two pairs, nines and eights, to scoop the pot.

Hand #22: Reginald Hampton raised to 52,000 from under the gun and Johnson three-bet to 125,000 from middle position. Thomas Reynolds called on the button and Hampton folded. The flop came {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Spades}, Johnson led out for 125000, and Reynolds called. The turn was the {3-Hearts}, Johnson led out for 250,000, and Reynolds called again. The river was the {3-Spades}. Johnson checked and Reynolds moved all in for about 800,000. Johnson went into the tank and eventually folded.

Hand #23: Michael Gathy raised to 50,000 from the hijack and Hampton defended his big blind. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {10-Hearts}. Hampton led out for 80,000 and Gathy called. The river was the {q-Clubs} and Hampton check-folded to a bet of 250,000 from Gathy.
