Hands #11-15: Shorr Pots the River

Level 24 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Hand #11: Zahir Gilani limped in on the button, Jerry Callahan completed from the small blind and Ryan Laplante checked his option in the big blind. The flop came {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and Callahan checked. Laplante bet 40,000, Gilani folded and Callahan called. The turn was the {a-Clubs} and both players checked to the {6-Diamonds} on the river. Callahan led out for 90,000 and Laplante raised to 340,000. Callahan raised the pot, and Laplante re-raised the pot. Callahan called. Both players clearly knew they were chopping, as Callahan tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Laplante showed {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, both with the nut straight. "I didn't wanna get a penalty" said Callahan.

Hand #12: Shannon Shorr got a walk.

Hand #13: Esther Taylor raised to 55,000 from under the gun and got calls from Callahan in the cutoff and Victor Choupeaux in the big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} and all three players checked to the {6-Diamonds} on the turn. Choupeaux checked, Taylor bet 75,000 and both Callahan and Choupeaux mucked.

Hand #14: Laplante raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and got no action.

Hand #15: Shorr raised to 55,000 from the cutoff and Fernando Brito defended his big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} and Brito checked. Shorr bet 70,000 and Brito called. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and Brito checked again. Shorr bet the pot, which was 162,000 and Brito asked, "Do you have two pair?" He eventually folded.
