Michael Sassen Falls on the River

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Michael Sassen
Michael Sassen

The action was folded to Shawn Daniels, in the cutoff, who raised to 125,000. Michael Sassen was in the small blind and three-bet to 325,000. Daniels four-bet to 750,000, and the action was back on Sassen, who five-bet jammed all in for 2,700,000. Daniels quickly called, and the cards were tabled.

Daniels: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Sassen: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Daniels was in front with his pair of kings, and Sassen needed to catch an ace. And an ace he caught on the {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} flop, instantly taking the lead. The turn was the {5-Hearts}, and the river landed the {k-Clubs}. Daniels spiked a set of kings on the river, and when all the chips were counted, Daniels had Sassen covered by around 100,000.

Sassen walked off to collect his winnings, and Daniels stacked his chips with some shaky hands.
