5 Ladies in the Field of 105

Of the 105 players that entered today's tournament only 5 are women: Annie Duke (U.S.A.), Jennifer Harman (U.S.A.), Barbara Lewis (U.S.A.), Marissa Chien (U.S.A.) and Francine Brandler (U.K.)

Duke and Harman, as you all know are WSOP bracelet winners-- Harman with two in limit hold'em and no-limit deuce-to-seven single draw and Duke with one in Omaha 8-or-better.

Barbara Lewis had a terrific WSOP this summer with four cashes in four of the forms of poker in the rotation today-- limit hold'em, razz, seven-card stud, and seven-card stud 8 or better.

Marissa Chien is a tax professional from Las Vegas as well a a fierce cash game player. She qualified for the Mansion Poker Dome broadcast and won her first heat, advancing to the semi-finals. Chien is also an avid online player and can frequently be spotted in the mid-limit Omaha 8 or better games.

Francine Brandler is a local player and was eliminated in the early levels of play today. The only recorded cash we can find for her is a 5th place finish in a £40 tournament.
