The Zach Stack Takes A Hit

Early pace setter Simon Zach has taken a hit courtesy of Norway's resident poker menace, Andreas Hagen.

With the board reading {9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and the pot about 11k thick, Hagen was facing a 10k bet from Zach for what was virtually his tournament life.

After a lengthy session in the think tank, the Scandinavian pro confidently slid in his chips, making it just one or two thousand extra.

Simon Zach grimaced slightly, clearly finding the call about as alluring as Jabba the Hutt in a bikini. However, although he only held one pair with {8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} in the hole, he had plenty of outs against Hagen's {Q-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}, all of which failed to arrive on the blank {9-Hearts} turn.

Hagen showed no emotion as his Pocket Rockets were enough to win a nice chunky pot and shoot him to circa 30-35k in chips.
