Double Up; Colour Up

Kenny Tran moves all in preflop on the last hand before the 20 minute break and colour-up. He has a very small stack and {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. He's up against {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} and they deal it out:

Flop: {J-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}

Turn: {A-Spades} "There's always something," notes Tran, referring to the way poker players are always hypersensitive to any possible outs for their opponent when all in and ahead.

River: {10-Clubs} And he stays alive.

Annie Duke Eliminated in 21st Place (£30,770)

Annie Duke - 21st Place
Annie Duke - 21st Place
Over at the featured TV table, I caught the action on the flop of {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{5-Spades}. Annie Duke moved all in and Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad quickly called.

Duke: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Annette_15: {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}

Annette_15 flopped the nut flush. The turn was the {A-Diamonds} and Duke picked up more outs to win. The river was the {8-Diamonds}. Duke's hand could not improve and she headed to the rail in 21st place. Duke won £30,770.

Annette_15 increased her stack to over 900,000.

Aleksander Vathne Knocked Out By Gus Hansen 20th (£30,770)

Aleksander Vathne
Aleksander Vathne
Short stacked after a strange hand where he'd called a preflop reraise to 70k from Johannes Korsar only to pass on the {3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts} flop when Korsar put him in for his last 100k, Aleksander Vathne is now out.

His final hand: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, taken on by Gus Hansen with his {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Flop: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Turn: {4-Hearts}
River: {5-Clubs}

And a player who had taken turns in the mid stages of the tournament to grab and lose the chip lead has now busted in 20th.

Easily Annoyed

Being up here on the balcony, there are always going to be a few annoyances, many of which come from the rail who consider the blogging team to be a source of info from "Can I check my facebook on your computer?" and "Is he famous?" (pointing at Doyle Brunson) to more geographical questions such as "Where is the nearest Tube station?" and "Do you know how to get to London Bridge?".

However, the most annoying thing is not the rail, but in fact the fruit machine by our station which has The Bangles' 'Walk Like an Egyption' continuously playing on a loop. If I had an 'eternal flame' I'd set fire to the flippin fruity in a flash.

Terry Cook Busts in 19th (£30,770) to Matthew McCullough

Terry Cook - 19th
Terry Cook - 19th
***Huge Hand Alert***

The preflop action saw Matthew McCullough raising to 22k, and button Terry Cook moving in for 147k. So far, pretty standard. Then small blind James Keys suddenly moved in over the top, for a whole lot more. Back to McCullough, and he called all-in (Keys had him covered by a stack of red 5k chips). The rail held its breath...

McCullough: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}
Keys: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Cook: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

Flop: {4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} Double slap for the Kings, Keys shaking his head
Turn: {J-Diamonds} "Ten!" request the James Keys fan club
River: {2-Clubs}

And Terry Cook is eliminated bringing our total number of players remaining in the Main Event of the WSOPE to 18.
