Gino Luck

Gino Gabriel, having dwindled to under 8,000, found {A-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} , and pushed all in preflop, only to find Warren Woodall making the call with {J-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} . A third jack on the flop and he was already standing up - the board ended up {3-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {3-Hearts} and he is one of the first out.

Julian Quance Eliminated

Although I raced over like I had ants in my pants, I could only catch the aftermath of Julian Quance's exit, but it was obvious what had happened. All in preflop with {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}, Quance hurtled head-first into the {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} of Neil Channing who duly survived a clinical {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{K-Spades} board. Channing had his man just about covered, meaning Quance was gone.

Kitchen Sink

After defending his big blind with {J-?}{3-?}, John Kitchen hit top pair on a jack high flop, but was out-gunned by the {Q-?}{J-?} of initial raiser Shaun Deeb. All the chips found their way in by the river, leaving Kitchen to join the handful of early eliminees already on the rail.

Binger - now rocking
Binger - now rocking
Phil Laak has just lent his iPod and headphones to Michael Binger. No word on whether this was due to the arrival at the table of the always chatty Willie Tann, now seated on Binger's left. Binger put the headphones on, turned on the rock, and won the first hand he saw.

Make Mine a Double

We're seeing more doubles than a PokerNews Christmas party at the moment. First John Kabbaj doubled through with aces versus nines ("I lost a big pot earlier, so I still only have 40,000). Then WSOP bracelet winner Jesper Hougaard took a big pot off Shaun Deeb with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} versus {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} on a {K-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} board.

Shaun of the Dead

bloomin' butter!
bloomin' butter!
Just moments after the previously reported encounter, Shaun Deeb and Jesper Hougaard clashed once more as the youngster found Big Slick against Hougaard's pocket fives. However, Deeb's coin has been buttered the wrong side today, as he lost out for a second time, this occasion also resulting in his untimely demise.

As a result, Hougaard now has around 85,000 and looking as happy as a Labrador that's just won a year's supply of Pedigree Chum.

Easy Listening...

Coming soon on Desert Island Discs...
Coming soon on Desert Island Discs...
Daniel Negreanu has been moved next to Phil Laak and the pair are discussing music tastes. Negreanu likes everything apart from 'Country' and 'Heavy Metal,' and what music does the Unabomber like to avoid?

"Electronica, Antonio loves it, but I don't."

One Arrival, One Departure

One of the tables up here just became about 50k richer, as Daniel Nutt arrived with two full racks of chips, a lot of them 1,000 ones. "Had a good start to the day?" asked Andy Bloch, rhetorically.

It was Torstein Iversen who busted, hands later, raising preflop in early position, but putting the rest in after big blind Thomas Merved set him all in. It was Merved's {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} vs. Iversen's {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} . The flop came {Q-Hearts} {10-Hearts} {8-Spades} , and the others were murmuring "Nine...King..." in the perverse way they always do on the {J-Diamonds} turn, but the river bricked {7-Clubs} and we're down another player.
