Neil Channing jut filled me in on the goings on at his table.
Firstly, Surinder Sunar knocked out Richard "Chufty" Ashby when his doubled-suited busted Ashby's "bad aces."
Sunar didn't last much longer though, as he gave a lot of chips to Channing himself before flopping two pair against another opponent. All the chips went in and his opponent turned a bigger two pair.
Patrik Antonius was also eliminated from this table after calling all in on a ten-high flop with . It turned out to be no good, so he'll have to wait for the Main Event to try and collect his first bracelet.
Tom Dwan is down to 18,000 after trying it on with his neighbor Mohammed Barkatul.
Dwan raised in early position and Barkatul was the only caller to see the flop, which both players checked. Dwan bet out 3,050 on the turn, promptly called by Barkatul, and then backed down to check the river. Barkatul checked as well, and was good -- Dwan turned over the and then mucked the rest of his hand as Barkatul flipped over -X.
Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott has lost two-thirds of his stack to Sorel Mizzi in a massive hand gone wrong for the Ulliott from Hull-iot.
With the board reading , Mizzi checked to Devilfish, who bet a massive 25,000, leaving himself just 20,000 behind. Mizzi moved all in, and a rueful Devilfish flashed the before passing. Mizzi is now up to 86,000.
Henrik Gwinner has just been eliminated by Erik Albinsson in a huge pot. I didn't get all the details but was informed by a tablemate that Gwinner flopped top two pair against his opponent's overpair with a straight draw.
All the money went in on the flop and Albinsson made his straight on the turn to eliminate the Dane. Albinsson is up to 120,000 as a result.
A delighted Roy Brindley has doubled in a massive hand, by the by putting an enormous dent in David Williams' once chip-leading stack.
With four limpers preflop, Brindley looked down and found ; he raised. With two callers, he saw a flop, at which point all the chips went in, with just Williams coming along for the ride.
Brindley:
Williams:
Board:
Brindley is up to a huge 135,000, while Williams is down to mere peanuts (maybe 15,000).
Mr. Brindley would also like to say, "Hello!" to his family at home. He misses them very much.
