Final Table Set, Requires Only Players

Hello and welcome back to the Empire Casino where nine happy hopefuls will shortly be battling it out to see who is crowned King of England -- or at least winner of Event #1.

Bags of chips are on the table and a variety of very excited railers, who have the look of Friends And Family about them rather than interested poker buffs, are beginning to fill the ringside seats. So far there is no sign of any of final tablers, though, so it looks as though we're not in for a massively punctual start.

Our stacks and seats will, eventually, look like this:

Seat 1: Fabien Dunlop -- 538,000
Seat 2: James Tomlin -- 49,000
Seat 3: William Martin -- 122,500
Seat 4: Richard Allen -- 332,000
Seat 5: Anthony Roux -- 88,000
Seat 6: Adnan Alshamah -- 121,000
Seat 7: JP Kelly -- 317,500
Seat 8: Thor Drexel -- 77,000
Seat 9: Neil Suarez -- 217,500

Watch this space...

It Ain't Started 'Til Jack Effel Sings

Ok, no club classics coming from his mouth, admittedly, but now that JP Kelly has arrived, TD extraordinaire Jack Effel has taken the mic to introduce the players, and urge railers not to throw anything at the final table.

We thus deduce that we are just minutes away from getting this baby underway.

James Tomlin Eliminated in 9th Place (£13,115)

Wow, not four minutes into the level and there is crazy action!

Short stack James Tomlin open-shoved in mid-position, and William Martin reshoved behind. Over to Thor Drexel in the big blind -- and he called all in. Three-way showdown!

Tomlin: {A-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Martin: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Drexel: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

Flop: {J-Clubs} {K-Clubs} {4-Clubs}, giving Tomlin a flush draw.

Some "oooh" noises from the rail.

Turn: {4-Diamonds}

Tomlin: "Come on, club."

River: {8-Spades}

Thus we lose Mr. Tomlin and the large portion of the rail that was comprised of his friends and family, and the other two chop it.

Roux Cripples Drexel

Anthony Roux open-shoved for his last 74,000 and got looked up by Thor Drexel on the button. On their backs.

Roux: {J-Diamonds} {Q-Spades}
Drexel: {4-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}

Board: a very firm {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} to give Roux quads.

Roux doubles up to 170,000, while Drexel is crippled to just 25,000.
