Ouch

According to my source (please consider this a disclaimer), Ganesh Bathmanathan is now on 100,000 (!) in chips after shoving {9-?}{8-?} on a {10-?}{9-?}{10-?} flop, being snap-called by {K-?}{K-?} and fluking a cheeky straight via a {7-?} turn and {6-?} river. As I said when I stubbed my toe this morning: "Ouch."

Martin Survives

With a raise of 3,000 before him, William Martin pushed all in for a total of 10,100. "Will you show if I pass?" came the all too familiar question. Martin shrugged and lifted his palm into the air before saying, "I'll show if you call."

In the end, no call was made, but Martin remained hospitable, flipping {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts} as he raked in the pot.

Lucky Mackie

One very lucky gentleman is Mr. Duncan Mackie. Finding himself in the big blind on the bubble with just 4,100 chips behind, it folded around to David Rowan in the small blind, who raised to cover him.

Mackie dwelled up for an understandably long time, mainly sighing and looking up at the ceiling as if hoping for divine guidance or some such. Eventually he passed, and as soon as he did, TD Jack Effel announced that Robert Lim had already burst the bubble, and Mackie breathed another sigh, this time of realief, that he had made the money.

Out on a Lim

With Raymond Rahme raising it up from under the gun, Robert Lim flat called for a third of his stack on the button. On the {6-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, Rahme open pushed and Lim made the all-in call.

Rahme = {9-?}{9-?}
Lim = {A-?}{A-?}

Turn = {4-Spades}
River = {10-Diamonds}

... and bullets burst the bubble. "I wanted to double up," claimed Lim in defeat as he begrudgingly remained seated at the table.

Martins Hits Second Gear

Not everyone is playing in reverse during this bubble period. With just one exit remaining, Martins Adeniya managed to win three pots in a row.

(i) With a raise of 2,500 in front of him, Adeniya pushed all in from the small blind and picked up the pot uncontested.

(ii) Mikael Andersson raised to 2,000 from the cut-off, only for Adeniya to make it 6,300. Andersson relinquished his hand.

(iii) Adeniya snapped up the blinds with a raise of 2,100 from the cut-off.

As a result of his activeness, Adeniya has increased his stack to 30,000.

Clenched Buttocks

The following players are currently sitting with clenched buttocks and sweaty palms we endure the torturous bubble process:

Duncan Mackie -- 5,000
Nick Holbrook -- 9,000
Adam Matusiak -- 10,000
David Docherty -- 16,500
Tim Molyneux -- 7,500

Azghar Not Afraid

In traditional big-stack-on-the-bubble style, JP Kelly has been getting a bit jiggy. He seems to have raised preflop from the button and been called by Azzy Azghar in the small blind. Azghar bet out on the {4-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {K-Spades} flop and Kelly called; when Azghar bet 6,000 on the {7-Hearts} turn, Kelly enquired, "How much do you have left?" The answer was around 16,000, an Kelly flat-called.

Both players checked the {Q-Diamonds} river, and Azghar took it down with {A-Spades} {J-Spades} while Kelly just mucked.

Not Getting Stucke In

Over in the little side room, less cramped today owing to only containing two tables rather than the usual three, David Stucke tried it on with a fairly serious late-position raise. He gave it up to a huge raise from chip monster JP Kelly, and we continue hand-for-hand.
