Day 2 Starting Any Second Now

Good afternoon and welcome back to the Empire Casino in London's Leicester Square.

While Paul Zimbler dozily continues into the 31st hour of his world heads-up stamina record upstairs, down on Centre Court we are preparing for the restart of the round-of-each. Tournament director Jack Effel has got on the mic to point out to players that he got out of bed for this and would therefore very much like them to take their seats to enable a prompt start. They're trickling in now, so with a bit of luck we'll be getting underway.

22 players remain, with heavily-tattooed Canadian Eric Cajelais in the lead after knocking out Annette Obrestad. 18 places pay out, so we're not far off the money. The intention is to play down to a final table tonight, but there is a good chance that if time allows and players agree, we'll play right down to a bracelet winner tonight instead. We'll keep you updated...

Only 50 Hours to Go...

Yesterday's surviving players may have enjoyed a well-deserved sleep, but up on the balcony, Paul Zimbler was enduring an overnight stay, not due to any gambling addiction or appetite for craps, but his plucky attempt at the world heads-up record.

At time of writing, Zimbler has just the 50 hours remaining after completing 30 hours in tact. He looks dazed, but has found a second wind and been enjoying a purple patch. Sadly, that purple patch just came to an end when a wide awake Ian Frazer - who, incidentally, will be participating in today's Hold'em/Omaha event - triumphed in a brief all-London battle.

"Oh, no, the purple patch is over!" cried Zimbler.

Most of our players have seated themselves at their respective seats, but play has not yet started. After several calls across the floor from Jack Effel for new two-time bracelet winner JP Kelly, said Mr. Kelly has been located. He is being handed his second gold bracelet winner even now.

flop, Keston then opted to check when a killer card arrived on the turn in the shape of the {Q-Hearts}

. Brivati didn't slow down though; he bet 17,000 and Keston made the fold.

Lederer Doubles Through Frazer

An early double-up to 45,000 for Howard Lederer spells early trouble for Ian Frazer. The chips went in on the {4-Hearts}

flop, Frazer in the lead with a pair of queens over Lederer's pair of queens. Leder picked up a flush draw on the turn, but ultimately it was the second pair he hit on the river that saved him. Frazer's down to 22,000 and not looking happy.

board. Men Nguyen led for 7,000 and Kabbaj, with the briefest of pauses, made the call. Both players then checked the {8-Diamonds}

Evdakov Strikes First on Table 3

Nikolay Evdakov took down an early pot over on Table 3 in a heads-up hand against chip leader Erik Cajelais.

(Omaha)

Action folded around the table to Evdakov who limped in from the small blind. Cajelais then opted to kick it up to 3,000 and Evdakov called.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}

and Evdakov check-raised a 4,000 bet from Cajelais, making it 10,000 to go. Cajelais quickly folded and Evdakov flashed the {A-Clubs}

for the mortal nuts.
