Roberto Romanello Eliminated in 7th (£29,830)

Roberto Romanello's demise occurred whilst I was at my station, but I prodded and probed members of the rail and was duly informed that Jani Vilmunen was the assassin. According to what I collated (although prised is a more accurate phrase) from my sources, Romanello and Vilmunen got it all in on a {7-?}{2-?}{3-?} rainbow flop, the Finn's pair of sevens with {4-?}{5-?}{6-?}{7-?} holding up against the Welshman's {4-?}{5-?}{9-?}{8-?}.

Eternally Insane

There's a Bangles themed slot machine here at the Empire Casino that is driving people insane, continually banging out the tune to 'Walk Like An Egyption' 24/7. I was in the lavatory just now, when the dude at the neighbouring urinal started humming the tune. In fact, the song is so infectious that I just caught Ross Boatman whistling it across the felt.

Ladies for Lederer

Jani Vilmunen raised to 36,000 preflop and Howard Lederer defended in the big blind. Both players checked the {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} flop, before Lederer led for 79,000 on the {3-Spades} turn. Vilmumen dwelt momentarily, then made the call. Two insta-checks on the {J-Clubs} river, Lederer taking it down with {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{A-Spades}.

A minor chink in the Finn's armour.

Change of Policy

According to Aarno Kivelio, with three Finns remaining, it should be Finnish only at the table only, but, to be honest, I'm not convinced Ross Boatman's Finnish will be up to scratch.

When the Chips Are Down...

With every round, Ross Boatman's stack gets smaller and smaller, yet he's unable to pick up a hand, and simply grimaces as he peeks down at what is a seemingly never-ending bag of spanners.

Then, finally, he found {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} in the big blind and was braced to push when... fold, fold, fold, fold.

"Just too good," Boatman said to small blind Jani Vilmunen.
