Steve Dannenmann Eliminated in 12th Place (€52,416)

Action folded around to Steve Dannenmann's button and he moved all in for his last roughly 130,000. Joseph Cheong snapped him off from the big blind and showed {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}.

Unfortunately for Dannenmann, he held an under pair and his {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} were in need of dire help to score him a double up. The flop came down {Q-Spades}{A-Clubs}{8-Spades} and was of no help to the 2005 WSOP Main Event Runner-Up.

The {4-Spades} hit the turn.

"There's always a sweat," said Cheong as Dannenmann called for a spade.

Alas, the {10-Clubs} fell on the river to eliminate Dannenmann in 12th place. Cheong stood up to shake Dannenmann's hand and Dannenmann said "You always fold jacks! Jacks are a bad hand!" with a smile.

The ever jovial Dannenmann will take home €52,416 for his efforts here in Cannes.
