Rough Start For Nguyen
The 1998 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Scotty Nguyen just took down a little pot, but for his stack it made quite a difference.
Keven Stammen raised it up to 800 and Emile Petit called. Nguyen was in de cutoff and also threw in the necessary chips. The flop brought out and the action was checked to Nguyen. He bet 1,100 and only Petit called.

An early position player opened to 700 only to find Eugene Katchalov three-bet to 1,700. It folded around to the small blind and she threw in calling chips. The original raiser decided to tag along as well.
The trio saw a flop of and there were two checks to Katchalov. The WSOP bracelet winner fired 2,100 and was called by both of his opponents.
The turned and there were two checks to Katchalov for a second time. He bet 6,000 and the small blind folded her cards. The original raiser came over the top for 21,000 which led Katchalov to go into the tank. After about one minute, Katchalov announced that he was all in for 12,650 more. His opponent thought for quite some time before finally getting rid of his cards.
Winning this pot brings Katchalov to about 65,500 in chips.

Rheem Pounces On River Against Pelletier
Yury Gulyy opened the action with a raise to 700 from early position, and Elliot Smith called from middle position. Chino Rheem called in the hijack seat, then Daniel Pelletier reraised to 2,100 from the cutoff seat. Play folded back to Gulyy, and he also folded. Smith and Rheem both called.
The flop was , and play checked to Pelletier. He fired 5,000 with only Rheem making the call to see the turn. That's where the landed, and Rheem checked. Pelletier bet 10,000, and Rheem called.
The completed the board, and Rheem took some time to think. Then, he announced that he was all in. Pelletier had 30,200 behind and to make the call, he'd have to commit just about all of his chips. He thought for a minute, then folded, and Rheem scooped in the pot.

Frankenberger Flops the Nuts
We saw Andy Frankenberger sitting with a big stack of chips, and he was kind enough to fill us in how on he acquired many of them. According to the two-time bracelet winner, action folded around to Brian Roberts on the button and he raised to 450. The small blind called, as did Frankenberger in the big, and it was three-way action to the flop.
After two checks, Roberts bet 900, the small blind folded, and Frankenberger check-raised to 2,000. Roberts made the call and then called another 2,000 on the turn. When the appeared on the river, Frankenberger check-called a bet of 5,300 with for a flopped straight, which beat the of Roberts.
