Once again, it's Gus Hansen who's made the first dent in the other's stack, as he made it 122,000 from the big blind to Jim Collopy's 43,000 button raise. Collopy called, but folded on the 
flop when Hansen bet out 208,000.

Collopy Really in Trouble Now
The current stacks - Gus Hansen 3,410,000, Jim Collopy 430,000.
That's a very large chip lead, isn't it?
This came about as a result of Hansen limping on the button and calling 77,000 from Collopy in the big blind. Collopy bet out 84,000 on the 
flop and Hansen called; they both checked the 
turn. The river was a third three - the 
- nd Collopy checked again. Hansen now bet an enormous 262,000, and after a long tank Collopy called - but mucked to Hansen's 
full house.
Collopy shoved from the button next hand but didn't get a call. Round 1 could be over pretty soon, though.
The Whittling Continues
The rail are still having a good time, and the suppliers of bottled water to the Empire are having an excellent week (we think Gus Hansen's on his sixth or seventh now), but there hasn't been a great deal of action to report of late.
All the pots have been very small, mostly limped and checked, and when a bet has gone in it's usually been form Hansen, and furthermore it's been swiftly followed by a fold from Jim Collopy.
This slow whittling, though, has seen Hansen's stack swell to around 3 million, while Collopy's has languished to just 800,000 - not quite at shoving point just yet, but probably soon.
Collopy Trips Up, Recovers Slightly
Several small hands went by (example: limp, check, check, check, check, min-bet, fold) and they all went to Gus Hansen, meaning that Jim Collopy was below the one million mark when this one took place.
Hansen limped and Collopy checked; nothing exciting there. But on the 
flop Collopy bet out 36,000 before Hansen raised to 83,000. There was a short dwell, and then a call.
The turn was the and there was another short dwell-up from Collopy before he checked. Hansen counted out 114,000 and played with the chips for a while (fanning, and re-stacking; fanning, and re-stacking) before betting them. Collopy tanked up for a bit longer this time, and then made the call.
They found themselves looking at a river and Collopy very slowly checked. Over to Hansen, who pulled a face and then commenced to tank, placing exactly 12xT1,000 chips over his cards just in case the dealer should go mad and try to take them away.
Eventually he checked behind, and found that he was unable to beat Collopy's for trips. Collopy is still just hanging in though - that pot put him back up to just about what he had at the break, 1.2 million to Hansen's 2.6 million.

That Big Hand
Jim Collopy raised in position and called a three-bet from Gus Hansen to see a 
flop. Hansen led out for 157,000. Collopy called.
The turn was the 
and Hansen disappeared into the tank, scratching his head, playing with his chips (he does this odd thing where he fans out a stack of chips, then pulls them back into a stack; we've seen Theo Jorgensen doing something similar so we hypothesise that it's a Danish thing). Eventually he bet out 384,000.
Collopy folded quickly, and is down to 1.16 million as they head out on their bathroom break.
