Murray Collects $25,000 Cash After Eliminating Hastings

Brett Murray
Brett Murray

Level 22 (15,000/25,000/25,000)

Action folded to Brett Murray in the small blind and he simply moved all in to put pressure on four-time WSOP bracelet winner Brian Hastings, who called off for around 220,000 in the big.

Brian Hastings: {a-}{7-}
Brett Murray: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}

A ten-high flop left Hastings in dire straits, and he was left drawing dead after a brick turn. Hastings hit the rail in 43rd place for $6,506.

Murray then redeemed his bounty ticket and snagged a cool $25,000 envelope!

Bad Beat Sends Spraggy to the Rail

Benjamin Sprague
Benjamin Sprague

Level 20 (10,000/15,000/15,000)

The player on the button raised to 35,000 and Ben "Spraggy" Spragg three-bet jammed for 240,000 from the small blind. The button called and Spraggy was in a great spot to double.

Ben "Spraggy" Spragg: {a-}{j-}
Button: {q-}{j-}

The jack-high flop kept Spraggy in the lead thanks to his kicker, but disaster struck when the dealer burned and turn a {q-} to give his opponent two pair.

The river was a brick and Spraggy hit the rail in 78th place for $4,282.

Strelitz Spikes River Three Outer on Wilkie to Burst Bubble

Steve Wilkie
Steve Wilkie

Level 17 (4,000/8,000/8,000)

It was a dramatic money bubble in the Wynn $1,600 Mystery Bounty as there were four different all-in hands at different tables. They played out one-by-one, and for the first three the short stacks all doubled.

On the last, MSPT champ Steve Wilkie was all in for approximately 225,000 and primed to double through Daniel Strelitz.

Steve Wilkie: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Daniel Strelitz: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}

Wilkie was a big favorite and the {5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop wasn't much of a threat. The {8-Diamonds} turn was a safe card and all Wilkie needed to do was dodge a nine on the river to stay alive. Unfortunately for him, that proved easier said than done as the {9-Diamonds} spiked to burst the bubble.

Wilkie leaves empty-handed while the remaining 152 players are guaranteed a minimum payday of $2,509.

Minkin Collects "LuckyChewy"'s Bounty

Andrew Lichtenberger
Andrew Lichtenberger

Level 16: 3,000-6,000, 6,000 ante.

Andrew "LuckyChewy" Lichtenberger got his last 88,000 all in preflop and was at risk against Kelly Minkin.

Andrew Lichtenberger: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Kelly Minkin: {a-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

The {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop gave Lichtenberger the lead with a pair of queens, but he was left drawing dead when the {2-Clubs} spiked on the turn to give Minkin a better club flush. The meaningless {q-Diamonds} was run out on the river and Minkin collected the bounty of "LuckyChewy."

Manole Rivers Full Boat to Score Double KO

Mihai Manole
Mihai Manole

Level 16: 3,000-6,000, 6,000 ante.

Both John Gordon and another player were all in preflop and at risk against Mihai Manole.

Mihai Manole: {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
John Gordon: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop kept Gordon in the lead but delivered the player without a pair a diamond flush draw. The {7-Hearts} turn paired the board while the {2-Diamonds} river completed the flush. However, it was no good as Manole came from behind to boat up and score the double elimination.
