I am out...

Posted by dsrjanssen. 11 Jul 2007, 20:35

I didn't make it to day 3... I was on a table with guys with big chipstacks and i was got a couple of pots and decent hands in level one of day 2b. after the break i was really card dead and got only muckcards...
I had One Hand in the next 2 levels AA i raise to 2800 UTG + 3 and no callers.. damn.. only ante's and blindes..
I was hanging in there... From then on the blinds and ante's killed me down to 5500 and pushed all in UTG + 4 and the small blind called me.. heads up With my Qd4d against his pocket 4's .. The flop came And he directly stakes the last 4 in the deck. needed a runner runner Q Q but it never came and i was busted... because i was pretty much carddead and low stacked i could pack my bags... I hope 2 see y'all next year!

Time to go on my bike

Posted by TonyG. 11 Jul 2007, 13:06

I am at the LAX airport Los Angeles right now. The dream is over for me this year and I am gutted but a few days and a full recovery is in store.
I felt I played great poker but it just did not work out for me this time 3 cashes totaling about $80,000 will keep me off the street.
Its too much of a grind and I am unsure if I will be back in 2008. Hoping to play less in the next few years and focus on other things in life., but it may be just that couse the poker hunger always gets the better of me and I get on my bike after a fall and just try again.

WSOP Update

Posted by TonyG. 9 Jul 2007, 11:29

I have played many events in the WSOP and the results have been fine but could be much better.
3 cashes with 58k from the 6 handed 5k buy in being the best result.
Spending 5 weeks in vegas is way too much and I want to get home asap right now but I am still alive in the main event with 42,400 in chips just bellow average and I will give this main event everything I got left in me. Its my dream to win this thing one day and this year could be the year, if I get deep I am very very dangerous and I am not looking to make friends along the way.
I do a video blog daily from the WSOP and you can find this on my blog. tonyg.pokerworks.com or on Pokernews.com video section part.
Everyone play well and have fun playing the greatest game in the world Poker.

What it feels like NOT to be at the WSOP

Posted by Rash. 7 Jul 2007, 01:32
Posted in: WSOP Main Event, Las Vegas

This time last year I was locked in battle in the main event of the WSOP. Well technically, I was standing at the rail lamenting my bad luck (poor play) and supporting my mates. This year, business has kept me away from the great event. So here is what it feels like not to be at the main event.
1) I wake up during the middle of the night thinking my girlfriend is a dealer;
2) I am watching shows like CSI Las Vegas, Las Vegas, and today I hired Rounders.
3) I am playing re-runs of the 2006 WSOP, and can’t seem to stay away from the pokernews.com live Coverage.
4) I have been playing the dog heads. Currently, dog is winning 3/1.
Anyway, good luck to all the team poker news players participating in this years event. Next year I am certain to be there!!!!
