Five months ago, Marco Antonio da Silva Galdino saw his brother playing Texas Holdem and thought he’d give it a go. Marco was drawn to No Limit Texas Holdem, especially when it came to online multi-table tournaments and sit-and-gos. Like most Brazilians, Marco loves football, but his passion for poker comes a close second. His qualification for the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event is far and away the biggest victory in his relatively short playing career. The win gave Marco “a huge adrenalin rush” and he was equally as thrilled to have qualified for the WSOP before his brother, who is also Marco’s acknowledged poker coach. The brothers shared a drink of Caipirinha after Marco’s win, and we look forward to seeing if any of Marco’s family will join him at his first WSOP.
