“Remember my name,” jokes Mark van der Voorden, “in few weeks I’ll be a rich man”. Planning to celebrate in Vegas, Mark credits qualifying for the World Series Main Event as his biggest poker success. The truck driver for the iconic company IKEA, the Dutchman started playing poker two years ago after seeing the great game being played on TV. “It looked fun, so I started playing with practise money” explained Mark. Thesedays he spends most of his poker playing time in cash games online, although he has occasionally appeared at live games and tournaments. Mark has played in the Austrian Open although he has never played in the World Series, or even been to America. We look forward to finding out if the poker world will indeed remember his name when he plays in the 2007 World Series Main Event.
