Day 1c Started
It is expected to be a very busy day at the Australian Poker Open, where players will get another shot at finding the money of the $1,500 Platinum Player Championships. The third opening flight of the event begins at 2 p.m. local time at the spaceous Doltone House Western Sydney at Club Marconi, where the field is likely to surpass the AUD $500,000 guaranteed prize pool on Day 1c.
There have been a total of 290 entries through the first two flights, with 37 players securing $2,300 and a bag for Day 2. The event features unlimited reentries, offering players many opportunities to find a bag.
That’s exactly what overall chip leader Minkyu Jun and Day 1b big stack Hasan Onay have done, dominating their opening flights to set the benchmark for the rest of the field.

Craig Tetley limped from middle position and called when Sunia Fonua slid out a three-bet to 800 from the small blind.
Fonua checked the 4♦5♥7♥ flop before Tetley fired 1,200. The call was made to the 9♠ turn, where Fonua checked once more.
Tetley tossed out a bet of 2,600, good enough to take down an early pot when Fonua mucked.

Emmanuel Derecho opened to 500 from under the gun and was met with a three-bet from Nelson Dong, who made it 1,700 in the cutoff.
Derecho called to the 10♥8♠2♣ flop and checked to Dong, who continued for 3,000. Derecho called and checked again on the 7♦ turn, with Dong checking behind.
Another check from Derecho on the 5♥ river was followed by a check from Dong. "Ah, check-raise coming," said Derecho, as he smiled and turned over 7♠7♥ for a set of sevens.
Dong mucked, and Derecho raked in the pot.
