End of Night

With 11 minutes to go in Round 15, we are going to pause the event and restart tomorrow with the 54 remaining players. There will be a seat redraw overnight.

Tomorrow we play from 54 down to 27.
Thursday we play from 27 down to six for the Friday Final Table.

Daniel Alaei Doubles Through Roland de Wolfe

Daniel Alaei was short stacked and all in preflop with {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} against Roland de Wolfe's {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}. As the dealer was putting out the board, another player mentioned that he had folded a five, and Alaei was down to a single out.

The turn card was -- a 5.

The river was a blank, and Daniel Alaei doubled up with a set of fives, increasing his stack to 278,000. Roland de Wolfe still has a ton of chips with 1,230,000.

Raymond Davis Eliminates Barny Boatman

Barny Boatman raised from the cutoff to 40,000, Grant Lang called from the button, Raymond Davis reraised to about 150,000, Boatman moved all in, and Lang folded.

Boatman showed {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}, but he was behind Davis's {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}. The board came {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, and Davis's hand held up to win the pot.

Neither player showed much reaction, and Boatman wasn't acting like a player who had just been eliminated. The dealer double checked the cards before slowly moving Boatman's chips over to Davis, but Boatman said, "Wait a minute. Does he have me covered?" Boatman was just having a laugh, because Davis had well over a million in chips, and Boatman was smiling as he shook the hands of the other players at the table.

After the hand, Raymond Davis increased his monster stack to 1,710,000.

Tom Pniak Eliminates Humberto Brenes

Scott Fischman raised to 30,000 from the cutoff, Humberto Brenes moved all in from the small blind, Tom Pniak called from the big blind, and Fischman folded. Brenes showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, Pniak showed {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and they were in a race situation.

Brenes asked for an ace, but the flop came {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, and he cheered, "Queen! Humberto!" The turn card was the {8-Clubs}, and the river card was -- the {10-Clubs}. Brenes shouted, "No!" as Pniak rivered a set to win the hand.

Humberto congratulated Pniak with a smile before tipping the dealer and heading home. After the hand, Pniak had about 750,000 in chips.
