Day 1 Over

And that's it for Day 1 of Event 11, the $5,000 Seven Card Stud. There are 86 players remaining. We will return tomorrow at 3 p.m. PDT for all the action from Day 2. See you then!

The Day's Almost Over, But There's Still Time for ACTION

On fourth street, Daniel Negreanu is all in with {5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} up. Seat 6 bets on the sidew with {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and Barry Greenstein calls with {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}.

On fifth: Greenstein has {2-Spades} and Seat 6 has {2-Hearts}. Greenstein raises and seat 6 calls.

On sixth: Greenstein has {5-Hearts} and bets. Seat 6 with {8-Diamonds} calls. On seventh, Greenstein bets and is called. Greenstein has {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} holed for a pair of aces. Seat 6 has {Q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for two pair. Negreanu shows {K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and squeezes out his seventh street card. It's a diamond and Negreanu shouts "Flushie!" He's up to 5,200. Greenstein has 9,000 left.

Ambassador of Poker is Eliminated

Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton has A-A showing versus David Oppenheimer's straight draw. Oppenheimer catches two pair to knock Sexton out. The first-class Ambassador of Poker is gracious as always, and will be back for the next event.

Juanda doubles up

John Juanda
John Juanda
Nursing a relatively small stack, John Juanda gets it all in on 5th street against Bill Edler.

Edler says "I have Aces up John"
Juanda says "Already?"

Juanda has 10,J,J,K,9

Sixth street brings a Queen for Juanda, giving him a straight. Edler is unable to fill up and Juanda doubles through.

Sexton Battles Elimination

Mike Sexton was down to his last 1,600 and raises with {A-Spades} up. Jan Sorensen re-raises Sexton all in and he calls. Sexton catches two more aces and is now at 4,500.

Paul Darden's Scare Pair

Paul Darden manages to keep his opponent going with {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} to {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, but an additional pair in the form of {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} is enough to scare the other guy off (who had {J-Hearts}{A-Spades} on fifth and sixth).

The Quadcrab Strikes

Theo Jorgensen's quad threes run into and over Humberto Brenes. The Shark is still alive, but barely.

Flack is Sharkbit

Humberto Brenes busts Layne Flack with eights full of jacks.

Greenstein vs. Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu has to lay it down on seventh street as he misses his flush and straight draw. He has {7-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{J-Spades} tabled and shows {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} holed. The astute Greenstein bet him on the end with {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and 3-3-2 holed. Greenstein now has 23,000 and Negreanu is down to 20,000.
