Brunson Eliminated

Todd Brunson
Todd Brunson
With all the money in preflop, Todd Brunson held {A-Spades}{5-Clubs} and his opponent had {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

Flop: {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Brunson couldn't catch up to the two pair and was short-stacked to 5,500. Brunson moved all in a few hands later with {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} but his opponent called with {K-Clubs}{8-Spades} and the slight favorite held up. Bruson was eliminated.

One More Nguyen, Baby

Flop: {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Opponent: {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Scotty Nguyen: {A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}

After limping into the hand, both players connected on the flop. Scotty's opponent moved all in and Scotty called with the nut flush. His opponent's two pair didn't complete a full house by the river and Scotty moved on to the money, and Day 2.

Scandi vs. Scandi -- Winner: Walhroos

After Patrik Antonius limped in the small blind, Wahlroos made it 10,000 to go. Antonius pushed all-in and Wahlroos called. Wahlroos showed {A-Spades}{K-Spades} and Antonius showed {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}. Wahlroos held the lead, spiked an ace on the river, and advanced to Day 2. The victory was bittersweet, as Antonius and Wahlroos are good friends.
