Day 2 action in this event gets underway at 3pm from the Amazon Room.

Bedtime

Well, play is very much over for the evening. Players are just bagging up, and it looks like we finish the day on 120 players. Chip counts should magically appear overnight.

Play resumes at 3 pm local time, when we'll be playing down to the final table.

Prince Knocked Down a Peg

Prince Of Docness (man, that feels like ordering a, "Just like Mom used to make" instead of a piece of apple pie) lost a huge pot just before the end of play -- when he went in, it was aces-up versus aces-up, but they didn't stay up for long.

Waiting it Out

As is so often the case, it would appear as though players are just waiting out these last several minutes as there has been an unsurprising lack of final level exits. Nobody wants to make a blunder at this stage, so each move is meticulously made, as if the players are fully aware of their current fatigue and the potential for a last-minute error.

Don't Have a Cow, Man

Bart Hanson is our most recent elimination. No further details are available, but he has definitely left the building.

Ciao, Giang

Chau Giang
Chau Giang
Also suffering a late exit is Chau Giang. He sang his swan song in seven card stud-8, all in on fourth street with {A-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{?}, but losing out to a triptastic {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

"They Gianged up on me," he cried as he left.

Okay, I made that up.

Pescatori Walks the Plank

Max Pescatori
Max Pescatori
"Italian Pirate" Max Pescatori has gone bust and won't be seeing any of this event's booty... me hearties. Aaaaaar.

The Other Greenstein

He seems to have somehow slipped past our poker radar up until now, but Mr. Bennett Greenstein (not to be confused with that other guy) is currently flying high on 41,000.

More Than a Feeling

Whilst the likes of Michael Mizrachi and Marco Johnson battle it out for the chip lead, Alan Boston is also feeling confident, his chip stack jumping up to the dizzy, nose-bleeding heights of 28,000.

Holding A-4-5-K in the hole, Boston held the second nut low draw with top two pair on K-5-2 flop, but was appeared to be chopping the pot when his opponent revealed the nut low draw. But alas, a three fell on the river to counterfeit our victim and give Boston another scalp.
