End of Day 2
Noted author David Sklansky looks to end a 25-year drought since his last WSOP bracelet, but he'll have a long way to climb back in order to do so. Sklansky will begin play tomorrow as the short stack, well behind our chip leaders Gioi Luong and John Phan. Phan will be trying to become the summer's first two-time bracelet winner.

Billy Baxter Eliminated in 7th Place ($15,054)
Down to his last 26,000, Baxter raised before the draw and was called by David Sklansky in the small blind and Gioi Luong in the big blind. Each player drew two cards. Action checked to Baxter.
"Well, they both checked. That's a good sign," said Baxter as he bet. Sklansky folded, but Luong called.
On the second draw, Luong took two again. This time Baxter drew one. Luong checked to him. Baxter bet, leaving just 1,000 behind. "Raise me a thousand, will you?" Baxter asked. Luong obliged, and Baxter was all in.
On the third draw, both players drew one card. Luong showed 7-6-5-2, and drew a queen. Baxter showed 8-5-4-2, but also drew a queen. He is eliminated in 7th place and collects $15,054. With that elimination, we are done for the night.
It Could Be Worse
"Well, I was in last position when we started and I'm in last position now," said Baxter, alluding to the fact that he began today 30th out of the 30 remaining players.
Greg Raymer, our 11th place finisher, had just walked up to the side of the table. "You want to change positions, Billy?" joked Raymer.

Steve Sung Eliminated in 8th Place ($15,054)
He flashed two black aces to Robert Mizrachi as he discarded two on the first pass. "I just always like going all in with those," he confided. Uchida took two.
On the second pass, Sung was pat. Uchida took one. Both players stood pat on the third draw.
"If you're pat, you probably got me," said Sung. Uchida did indeed have Sung, having drawn to Number Two. Sung earns $15,054 to ease the pain.
Mike Wattel Eliminated in 9th Place ($12,317)
On the first draw, Luong took two, Ponzio took one, and Wattel one. Luong and Ponzio each checked.
On the second draw, Luong and Ponzio took one card, and Wattel took two. Luong bet, Ponzio raised, and Luong called.
Both Luong and Ponzio stood pat on the third draw, while Wattel took two. Luong checked, Ponzio bet, and Luong folded.
Ponzio showed 7-6-4-3-2, and Wattel mucked. He's out in 9th.
Wattel Wiggles Free
Wattel showed 8-7-5-4-2. "Straight to the six," said Ponzio as he mucked. Wattel is still alive, but will need to gamble again here to remain so.
