Day 1b Concludes, Play to Resume at 1 p.m. Local Time (GMT+1)

Chip leader Adam Junglen

Day 1b of Event #56 (yes 56, there were 55 events played in Las Vegas!) has come to a close with 46 of today's 219 starters remaining in the field. They will join the 42 survivors from Day 1a tomorrow at 1 p.m. local time and will play down to a final table of nine.

Leading the Day 1b field is Adam Junglen, who at last count was up to over 83,000 in chips. Remy Biechel, James Akenhead, Phil Laak, and Isaac Haxton will also return tomorrow with healthy stacks.

Official chip counts will be posted once they become available -- which we're told will be in about an hour or two.

Join us again tomorrow for continuing coverage live from the floor of London's Empire Casino. Until then, from Leicester Square, good night and good luck!

Razor Blunted

John Phan's dramatic fall from 50,000 in chips is complete. He moved all in for around 11,000 over the top of the cutoff's 2,100 raise with {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} and was quickly called, finding himself in bad shape against {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds}. The dealer put out a fairly unremarkable board of {8-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {2-Spades} and Phan tapped the table and exited stage left.

Who Shot J.R.?

Happier Times
Happier Times
Jean-Robert Bellande has left the building. When folded around to him in the small blind he pushed for his remaining few thousand with {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} and was looked up by the big blind holding {K-Hearts} {7-Spades}.

The board came {5-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {K-Spades} {A-Diamonds}.

Most of the damage to Bellande's stack happened as a result of a collision with Adam Junglen awhile ago. He raised from under the gun, and Remy Biechel called from the button before Junglen reraised. Bellande the raised again, forcing Biechel to fold, but Junglen moved all in. After working the math, Bellande was forced to call with {K-?}{J-?} offsuit. He was dominated by Junglen's {A-?}{K-?} and didn't improve.

Phan Still Falling

John Phan opened for a 2,000 raise and James Akenhead flat-called. The flop came down {9-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Spades} and Akenhead check-called a 2,700 bet from Phan. The turn fell the {A-Hearts}. Akenhead checked, Phan bet 4,000 and Akenhead raised to 10,000 sending Phan into a very long think, which concluded in a disgusted fold. Phan's stack is down to 17,000 at present.

Could it be a lack of sleep that's catching up with Phan? The two-time bracelet winner impulsively jumped on a flight to London only last night, landing in the U.K. at ten this morning-- barely enough time to check into his hotel and sprint over to the Empire.

For more on this story, check out the interview he did with our own Gloria Balding earlier today.

Bloch Gets His Wish

The lights have suddenly dimmed in the cardroom with just a couple left on now. Consequently many of the players on the outer tables are looking a lot more comfortable.

Free Dinner on the Way

The Kid's alright
The Kid's alright
After doubling up through Jean-Robert Bellande (we'll try and find out details), Adam Junglen didn't stop in his attempt to attain chips.

He called a raise to 2,200 from a late-position player whilst sitting in the big blind, before the flop came {5-Spades} {8-Spades} {6-Diamonds}.

Both players checked it, so we headed straight to the turn {8-Diamonds}. Junglen led out for 2,200 before his opponent bumped it up to 5,700, leaving himself 10,700 back. Junglen then reraised enough to put his opponent all in and eventually forcing the fold.

Junglen is up to a massive 81,000 now. "He's pretty good," aimed Shaun Deeb at me from the next seat.

David Williams Eliminated by Andy Black

David Williams
David Williams
Short-stacked for a while now, David Williams made his stand preflop with the {A-Clubs} {5-Diamonds}, but unfortunately ran smack into the {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} of Andy Black. No help for Williams on the {K-Clubs} {J-Spades} {4-Hearts} {3-Spades} {10-Spades} board and he hit the rail.

Lights Off!

Too much lights compared to camera and action
Too much lights compared to camera and action
Andy Bloch has been attempting to find a way to turn off all the lights around his table off, albeit with no success.

"It's too hot around here, we don't need all these lights...I mean who has lights that are only six feet off the ground? They're a fire hazard!"
