After six full levels and nearly thirty eliminations, we have finally reached the PokerStars.net LAPT Florianopolis Main Event Final Table!
Thirty-six players began the day with a guaranteed $4,619 payday, but it would be one of the coveted final eight spots, along with the $247,441 first prize that would be the goal of everyone remaining.
Action was hot and heavy in the first hour with over ten players falling to the rail with Alessandra Correa Dos Santos (32nd), Claudio Baptista (30th), Paulo Rink (29th) and Cristiane Dias (27th) all making the secondary pay jump of $5,546.
The final Team PokerStars member Jorge Arias bit the dust in 24th as another steady stream of eliminations occurred until just sixteen remained as Matthias Habernig sat atop after over-taking the overnight chip leader in Rudy Blondeau.
Taking over four hours to lose the final eight, it would inevitably be Pedro Velasco Adnet who would bubble the final table after riding a roller coaster of a last few hours as Habernig would dispatch of the Brazilian.
With that pot - plus many others - Habernig will carry the title of 'Final Table Chip Leader' after amassing a 3,205,000-chip stack; amazingly nearly half of the chips in play. Andre Luiz Scaff sits next on the leaderboard - albeit fairly far behind - with a 814,000-chip stack as Dayan Vardanega (761,000), Robson Vinicious Kozan (598,000) and Rudy Blondeau (597,000) round out the top five.
