Day 3 Completed
After six full levels and nearly thirty eliminations, we have finally reached the PokerStars.net LAPT Florianopolis Main Event Final Table!
Thirty-six players began the day with a guaranteed $4,619 payday, but it would be one of the coveted final eight spots, along with the $247,441 first prize that would be the goal of everyone remaining.
Action was hot and heavy in the first hour with over ten players falling to the rail with Alessandra Correa Dos Santos (32nd), Claudio Baptista (30th), Paulo Rink (29th) and Cristiane Dias (27th) all making the secondary pay jump of $5,546.
The final Team PokerStars member Jorge Arias bit the dust in 24th as another steady stream of eliminations occurred until just sixteen remained as Matthias Habernig sat atop after over-taking the overnight chip leader in Rudy Blondeau.
Taking over four hours to lose the final eight, it would inevitably be Pedro Velasco Adnet who would bubble the final table after riding a roller coaster of a last few hours as Habernig would dispatch of the Brazilian.
With that pot - plus many others - Habernig will carry the title of 'Final Table Chip Leader' after amassing a 3,205,000-chip stack; amazingly nearly half of the chips in play. Andre Luiz Scaff sits next on the leaderboard - albeit fairly far behind - with a 814,000-chip stack as Dayan Vardanega (761,000), Robson Vinicious Kozan (598,000) and Rudy Blondeau (597,000) round out the top five.

As the action folded round to Matthias Habernig in the small blind, he bumped it to 66,000 only to have Pedro Velasco Adnet move all in from the big.
Habernig made the call and the cards were tabled.
Habernig:
Adnet:
With Adnet at risk, he approached his dozen or so railbirds to sweat him through potentially his last hand.
The flop of changed little as Adnet would need a queen or jack or running cards for a chopped straight to remain alive.
The was delivered on the turn, and when the spiked on the river, Adnet exited in 9th place for a $12,941 payday as the remaining eight players could now relax as they had made it through to the LAPT Florianopolis Final Table!
With the action on Rodrigo Scartezini on the button, he moved all in for his last 84,000 with both Dayan Vardanega and Matthias Habernig making the call from the blinds.
The board was checked through to see Vardanega table his , Habernig his and Scartezini his to see him triple through to 255,000.
From middle position, Rudy Blondeau raised to 61,000. Miguel Velasco called from the big blind and the two took a flop of . Velasco checked and Blondeau fired 69,000. Velasco quickly put in a raise to 150,000. Blondeau tossed his hand into the mucked and Velasco tabled the for just eight high. Blondeau was knocked down to 320,000 chips.
Andre Luiz Scaff open-shoved his last 411,000 from middle position and Miguel Velasco made the call from the small blind.
Scaff:
Velasco:
The flop kept Velasco in the lead, and when the landed on the turn, it looked as if Scaff may be out the door.
"Filho do rei! Filho do rei! Filho do rei! Filho do rei!" screamed Scaff when the dealer dropped the on the river.
Translating to Son of the King, Scaff raked in the pot to climb to 850,000 - but not before throwing his arms high into the air while screaming, "Thank you my Lord!"
That question is an easy one to answer . . . Austrian Matthias Habernig of course.
Currently - while located on the feature table - Habernig sits with roughly 2,450,000 in chips.
Level: 25
Blinds: 15,000/30,000
Ante: 3,000
Matthias Habernig raised to 65,000 and Guilherme Marques Garcia moved in over the top. Habernig didn't need to know how much it was as he snapped off the shove with two aces -- . Garcia held the .
Garcia did flop a flush draw, but he missed as the board ran out and he was eliminated. Habernig continues to crush the tournament as we move to hand-for-hand play with nine remaining.
We've just been told that when we lose one more player, the two table will remain in play. The players will not be condensing down to just one nine-handed table. Instead, one table will play four handed and the other five handed until we lose our final player for the day. This should keep the pace of the game moving along quite nicely.
