After 14 levels, Day 2 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Harrah's Resort Atlantic City is in the books. We began with 337 players left from the starting field of 616 (with 63 cashing) and when it was all said and done, only 26 survived. Leading the way into Day 3 is Adam Teasdale with 1,468,000, followed by Aaron Overton with 1,040,000 and Brandon Fish with 1,016,000.

Among those who made the money but came up a bit short of making Day 3 were Will Failla, Jamie Kerstetter, David Diaz, Dan Buzgon, and Chris Reslock.

Here is the Day 3 table and seat draw:

For the Nguyen (But Woelful Not Woeful)

Brian Nguyen just earned a huge double-up through Wade Woelfel in a hand that saw Woelfel raise, Nguyen reraise-shove, and Woelfel call. Nguyen had {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Woelfel {A-}{Q-}. The flop came {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds} to give Nguyen a set. Then the {2-Clubs} turn improved Nguyen's hand to an unbeatable full house, making the {Q-Spades} on the river too little too late for Woelfel.

Woelfel counted up his stack of more than 200,000 afterwards, declaring he wasn't worried and that he still had plenty of chips to work his way back into contention.

"I'm going to win this," he said with a shrug. And the next hand was dealt.

Teasdale Busts Moriarty in Huge Pot

Adam Teasdale has just taken the chip lead in dramatic fashion.

He opened the action with a raise to 25,000 from the hijack and was called by the player on the button. Ryan Moriarty three-bet to 61,000 from the small blind, both players called, and the flop came down {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Moriarty bet 65,000, but Teasdale popped it to 140,000. The player on the button folded, putting the action back on Moriarty who tanked for about 45 seconds before re-raising all in for about 505,000.

Teasdale called and tabled {A-Spades}{J-Spades}, trailing (but with many outs against) the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} of Moriarty.

The {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn to keep Moriarty ahead, but it gave Teasdale a few extra outs. On cue, the {9-Diamonds} landed on the river to give Teasdale a queen-high straight to score the elimination.

Following Fish

Brandon Fish
Brandon Fish

We were mentioning yesterday how the race for the 2012-13 WSOP Circuit Harrah's Resort Atlantic City Casino Champion was a tight one, since the first nine events had seen nine different winners with none of those players having cashed in any other event thus far. That meant a nine-way tie for first in the points race, with each of those champions having 50 points heading into the Main Event (Event #10).

Once we made the money today, just one of those players was still alive, Brandon Fish, winner of Event #2 ($365 NLHE). This cash therefore nudges Fish out in front in the Casino Champion race, and in fact he appears primed to do more than just pick up a few points as he continues as our chip leader as we begin the last level of Day 2. (There are still two more events in the mix, both of which complete tomorrow.)

Fish has just over 1 million chips at present, the first player to reach that milestone.

Failla Falls

Action folded to Ryan Moriarty in the small blind and he limped in. Will Failla slowly squeezed his cards and after seeing them, shoved for another 110,000-ish.

It was bad news for Failla as Moriarty snap called and tabled {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}.

"Need two pair here," said Failla, showing {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}.

The dealer fanned a {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, but that wasn't enough for Failla.

"I said two pair!"

However, it was not meant to be for Failla as the {6-Spades} turn and {3-Hearts} river ended his Main Event in 31st place.
