Tran Gets Flushed By Balaguer

From under the gun, Henry Tran raised to 800. Paul van 't Veer and Adria Balaguer called from middle position, then Tristan Wade called from the small blind. From the, the dealer ran out the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop to get the party started.

After Wade checked, Tran bet 1,600. van 't Veer folded, but Balaguer called. Wade folded and left for heads-up action to fourth street.

On the turn, the {K-Hearts} landed. Tran kept pressing and fired 2,275. Balaguer called. The river then completed the board with the {8-Spades}. Tran bet 3,500, and Balaguer made the call.

Tran showed top pair with a queen kicker holding the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Balaguer had made his hand on the river, though, as he turned up the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} for a spade flush.

Tran lost the pot, but still has roughly 85,000 in chips while Balaguer chipped up to 26,500, but he's still down on the day.
