Chidwick Getting Short

Level 4 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Phil Ivey opened for 5,500 from under the gun, and Stephen Chidwick called on the button. Daniel Colman also called from the big blind, and the flop came {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. Colman checked to Ivey, who followed his preflop aggression with a bet of 10,000. Chidwick called, and Colman folded. The {9-Hearts} on the turn prompted Ivey to bet 30,000, and again Chidwick called.

The {4-Clubs} completed the board, and Ivey stared at Chidwick for a bit before asking him to commit 75,000 of his 120,000-chip stack. Chidwick called, but mucked after Ivey showed the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} for a flopped set of jacks.

Not much later, Chidwick opened with a raise, and Colman called from the small blind. Jason Koon called from the big blind, and the three players took the {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. Action checked to Chidwick, and the Brit continued for 7,500. Colman called, and Koon folded.

Both players checked the {9-Clubs} turn, and the {10-Diamonds} popped up on the river. Colman checked, and instantly called Chidwick's 18,000-chip bet. Chidwick showed the {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}, but would end up only getting half of the pot, as Colman showed the other two aces — {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}.
