FTOPS XI Event #5, $200+16 NHLE 6-Max: 'TOPTEN' Tops Them All

Event #5 of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series XI was $200+$16 Limit Hold'em 6-max. A field of 1,603 duked it out for the winner's payday of $44,327.10. Notable finishes included Keven "Stamdogg" Stammen in eighth place ($4,464.60), Chris "MoormanI" Moorman in 22nd ($1,148.04), Ben "Waters81" Waters in 23rd ($1,148.04), Peter "breeth" Turmezey in 24th ($1,148.04), Ray "Exitonly" Coburn in 26th ($956.70) and Kyle "kwob20" Bowker in 28th ($956.70). These were the chip counts as the final table began:

tom10167 - 1,624,496
killinda_sts - 1,432,881
Scott "TheMrC" Castelluccio - 568,256
TOPTEN - 301,235
pool_shark_10 - 177,980
Michael "benvo123" Benvenuti - 147,152

Michael "benvo123" Benvenuti exited first at 20,000/40,000. From middle position, killinda_sts raised and Benvenuti three-bet from the small blind, which killinda_sts called. The flop came (K-Hearts)(5-Clubs)(6-Diamonds) and Benvenuti's remaining 37,152 went into the pot with (3-Hearts)(3-Diamonds), leading killinda_sts (A-Hearts)(10-Clubs). The turn, however, was the (A-Spades) and Benvenuti did not get lucky as the river came the (Q-Clubs). He took home $7,228.40 for sixth place. The next to go was pool_shark_10 at 25,000/50,000. After taking some bad beats, pool_shark_10's last 70,712 went in with (J-Clubs)(9-Clubs) against tom10167's (A-Hearts)(Q-Spades). The flop came (Q-Hearts)(10-Spades)(6-Spades) and gave pool_shark_10 some hope, but the turn and river did not deliver as pool_shark_10 left in fifth place for $11,267.80

Scott "TheMrC" Castelluccio departed at 40,000/80,000. Killinda_sts raised from the cutoff and Castelluccio called from the big blind. The flop came (9-Hearts)(5-Clubs)(A-Diamonds) and Castellucui check-called a killinda_sts bet. The (8-Hearts) hit the turn and this time Castelluccio check-raised all in with (A-Hearts)(4-Hearts) and was up against killinda_sts' (A-Hearts)(7-Clubs). The likely split pot disappeared when the river brought the (7-Diamonds) and Castelluccio pocketed $15,732.40 for fourth. That was the high point for killinda_sts, who then lost ground and busted at 50,000/100,000. On the button, killinda_sts raised and tom10167 three-bet from the big blind. A call from killinda_sts brought out a flop of (7-Diamonds)(3-Clubs)(6-Hearts). Tom10167 led out and killinda_sts called. The (7-Spades) came on the turn and again tom10167 bet. Killinda_sts called all in with (Q-Diamonds)(8-Diamonds) and needed help to beat tom10167's (A-Diamonds)(6-Diamonds). That help failed to show when the (K-Hearts) fell on the river, with killinda_sts finishing in third place for $21,047.40.

These were the chip counts as heads-up play began:

tom10167 - 2,625,765
TOPTEN - 1,626,235

The two battled back and forth, but in the end TOPTEN took it down at the 60,000/120,000 level. The key hand that took tom10167's stack under 100,000 went three bets preflop and led to a (4-Hearts)(A-Clubs)(K-Diamonds)(6-Clubs)(8-Spades) board. TOPTEN led out every step of the way and tom10167 called, only to see TOPTEN table (A-Spades)(6-Diamonds) for two-pair. The last hand was an automatic all-in with tom10167 having less than the big blind, and he found only (7-Clubs)(2-Clubs) to play. TOPTEN held (10-Hearts)(8-Hearts), which held up when the board came (10-Clubs)(J-Spades)(6-Hearts)(J-Hearts)(6-Diamonds). For the second-place finish tom10167 took home $29,551.40, with TOPTEN claiming $44,327 and the custom FTOPS avatar for the Event #5 win.

Final Results:

1. TOPTEN - $44,327.10
2. tom10167 - $29,551.40
3. killinda_sts - $21,047.40
4. Scott "TheMrC" Castelluccio - $15,732.40
