Few things capture the attention of the poker community than the game's big guns standing toe-to-toe with one another and fighting it out in a high-stakes battle. SCOOP 16-H: $10,300 NLHE Super Tuesday High Roller is one such event, and boy, did the stars turn out in force for this one.

Sixty-nine players exchanged $10,300 for 100,000 chips, creating a $690,000 prize pool. Of those 69 starters only nine remain, and all nine are in the money, locking it a minimum of $21,511.

As you would expect from a $10,300 buy-in online poker event, those final nine read like a who's who of the poker world. The 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event champion Espen "Hymn2Ninkasi" Jorstad finds himself way out in front with twice as many chips as the rest of the field. Jorstad is part of Team Spraggy in the SCOOP League which will please his captain no end.

Estonia's "DingeBrinker" returns in second place, with recent 2024 SCOOP champion Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos rounding out the podium spots.

Making up the final table, but not there to simply make up the numbers, are Simon "C. Darwin2" Mattsson (also on Spraggy's team), Juan "Malaka$tyle" Pardo, Dinesh "NastyMinder" Alt, Brazilian Pedro "pvigar" Garagnani, three-time Sunday Million champion Artem "veeea" Vezhenkov, and Niklas "Lena900" Astedt of Team Tonkaaaa.

Cards are back in the air from 5:30 p.m. BST on May 8.

Spraggy Makes a Royal Flush; Reaches Day 2 of the $1,050 Super Tuesday

Team PokerStars' Benjamin "Spraggy" Spragg warmed up for the SCOOP grind early on May 7, entering the $109 Daily Kickoff. Although Spragg did not reach the money, he did make a royal flush, suggesting Lady Luck may be on his side.

Spragg is in with a chance of bagging a $95,554 score because he has navigated his way to Day 2 of SCOOP 16-M: $1,050 NLHE Super Tuesday. Some 538 players started but only 18 remain, with Spragg currently occupying 11th place with his 1,193,206 stack. Spragg's fellow Team Poker Stars Pro Laurie ""LaliTournier" Tournier is also through to Day 2, although she has more work to do as she returns in 18th place with 270,126 chips.

Kevin "Kelvin_FP:AR" Kerber is the man to catch when play resumes at 5:30 p.m. BST on May 8. He is being chased down by luminaries such as Gediminas "Gedis92" Uselis, Samuel "€urop€an" Vousden, and Canadian grinder "roo_400."

2024 SCOOP Team Standings:

  1. Lex - 1,305pts
  2. Spraggy - 1,255pts
  3. Fintan - 965pts
  4. Tonkaaaa - 900pts

High-Stakes HORSE Event Catapults Team Lex to the Top of the SCOOP League

2024 SCOOP League

We reported yesterday that Team Spraggy has climbed to the top of the SCOOP League, but that has changed because a trio of Team Lex superstars reached the final table of SCOOP 09-H: $1,050 HORSE 6-Max.

High-stakes mixed games could be where the SCOOP League is won and lost because so few players specialize in them, as the 53-player turnout for this event shows. Check out the names in the final table results below, and you'll discover that four of the seven finalists are part of SCOOP League teams, with three of them representing Team Lex!

Argentinian star Andres "chokitin" Korn was the first finalist heading to the sidelines. Team Lex's Benny "RunGodlike" Glaser busted in sixth, with Christian "CMoosepower" Elgstram of Team Tonkaaaaa bowing out in fifth.

Fourth place went to Gereon "huiiiiiiiiiii" Silva before two Team Lex heroes fell by the wayside. Sweden's "WhatifGod" busted in third, leaving teammate Patrick "pads1161" Leonard heads-up against Renan "Internett93o" Bruschi. Leonard crashed out in second place, narrowly missing out on yet another SCOOP title, but bagging plenty of precious SCOOP Player of the Year and League points for another impressive deep run.
