Jim Manlove got involved in a hand where he called a small blind raise to take a multi-way flop.
The small blind bet enough on the turn of a board reading to put him in and Manlove called and showed his for a flopped full house. His disconsolate opponent tabled for a useless straight draw.
The river completed the board.
Jim Manlove doubled up and had to laugh at the absurdty of such a great flop.
“That’s how he rolls,” JJ Hazan commented.
Still some work for Manlove to get back to starting stack though.
Vincent Anderson was all in for his last 20,000 on a board of and Jordon called.
Anderson:
Jordon:
“You’re way ahead,” said Jordon before the completed the river to give him two pairs to bust Anderson, “River Jordon. Sorry, you know what I’m like, gamble.”
Anderson took it in good spirits. That was one of two Opening Event tickets he has won through live satellites here at Aspers so he still has another chance.
There are two more opportunities for players to satellite into the £220 Opening Event which has a huge £120,000 guarantee.
Friday 6th Oct at 3 p.m. and Saturday 7th at 12 p.m. are thhe start times for the £30 satellites which guarantee 6 seats and players can re-buy as many times as they want.
Simon Green qualified for his £220 Opening Event seat online at 888poker for just $12 and is hoping to spin that up into a very nice pay day,
Green has slipped a little from his staring stack and is currently on 19,200 but at this stage that still represents 50 big blinds and a very playable stack.
We caught up with a former 888Live Main Event Sam Achempong who recounted his recent elimination,
Achempong opened for 750 and picked up a few callers before the player in the big blind made it 2,200. Back to Achempong and he four-bet to 6,700 getting two callers.
The flop was and Achempong and the big bling got the rest of the chips in the middle.
Achempong had but his opponent had out flopped him with and kept the lead to bust a fairly bewildered Achempong who isn’t sure just yet if he will fire again tonight.
