Welcome to the Czech Republic for the second 888Live Festival held at the renowned King’s Casino in Rozvadov. The festival features more than €600,000 in guaranteed prize money, with half of that coming in the €888 Main Event which starts a week today. Before we get to that, there’s a whole host of satellites and side events for players to take in, starting with the first flight of the Opening Event. At €225 it’s sure to draw a big crowd, and with four starting flights, including two on Saturday, a big field is expected.
Players are taking their seats ahead of Day 1A kicking off at 18.00 local time. The starting stack is 30,000 with a 30 minute clock. Players are allowed two re-entries per flight.

With the tournament clock ticking down towards the end of the first level, the action has been quiet, which is to be expected for the first day of a festival like this.

Midway through the second level, Marek Dostal raised to 400 under the gun. The player in the hijack calls before the player on the button raises to 1,500. Both players call.

Dostal, who has over $50,000 in tournament earnings according to the Hendon Mob, called quickly. His opponent threw across the felt for ace-high, but Dostal showed for top pair, and was awarded the pot.
This level also saw the first eliminations, as the first cries of 'Seat Open' were heard. According to the tournament clock, 53 players remain from a field of 56. One of these players immediately bought back in, with late registration and two re-entries available for the first 11 levels of Day 1a.

At the start of Level 3, tournament officials announced that there will be 15 levels of play today. This means that Day 1A will conclude at roughly 2.30am local time.
