Day 1b Started
Welcome back to the SKYCITY Queenstown Casino in New Zealand for continued coverage of the 2012 PokerStars.net Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Queenstown Snowfest Main Event.
Yesterday saw Day 1a in full swing, with 51 players becoming the largest single-day flight in this event's history. Today will see the second of three Day 1 flights take centre stage, with a near capacity field expected to take to the tables yet again.
All the players today will be chasing Australia's David Allan at the top of the chip counts. Allan had a great afternoon yesterday, bagging up 98,200 to become the Day 1a chip leader. Only time will tell who will have the most chips at the end of Day 1b.
All the action is set to commence at 12:30 PM local time and PokerNews will be here once again, bringing you all the live updates from the Queenstown Snowfest!

With late registration still open, these are some of the players we have recognised during these early stages of Day 1b.

Each year, points are awarded for the winners and in-the-money finshes in events across the Asia Pacific Poker Tour and the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour. Points are also awarded in special 'ANZ Qualifying' events in casinos around Australia.
Currently it is Anthony Aston who leads the player of the year race and he is in today's Day 1b field. Aston has had an impressive year, finishing in third place at the ANZPT Sydney event in March and then going on to finish in third place again at ANZPT Perth in May.
On Aston's tail is Didier Guerin and Mishel Anunu, but Aston won't have to worry about these players, with Guerin and Anunu both being eliminated during yesterday's play. The ANZ Player of the Year leader board can be found here.
Liam O'Rourke and Jacky Wang have both taken their seats late here on Day 1b. Readers may recall that O'Rourke recently finished in second place at ANZPT Sydney.

Alex Lynskey has managed to pick up plenty of chips early here on Day 1b, courtesy of recently eliminating a player.
We arrived at the table on the turn of a board, with around 3,000 already in the pot. It was on Lynskey's opponent to act and he opted to check. Lynskey bet 1,000 and after some hesitation, his opponent called, leaving himself with just a few thousand behind.
River:
Lynskey's opponent immediately shoved all in here and Lynksey made an extremely quick call, instantly flipping over as he did so. The at-risk player tabled his , no match for Lynskey's full house as he made his way from the tournament area.
