Barer Staying Active

Level 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Ami "UhhMee" Barer is no stranger to multi-table tournaments, having more than $3.8 million in online tournament winnings, including several PokerStars Spring Championship of Online poker final tables. We recently watched Barer take part in a couple of back-to-back hands that played out like this.

  • The first hand saw Barer open up the pot to 300 from early position. A late position player made the call and the dealer flipped over a {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{j-Clubs} flop. Barer led for 325 here and his opponent liften his cards in the air and slightly motioned to fold. It certainly looked that way to Barer, as he also readied his cards for the muck. However, the player had other ideas, deciding to make the call at the last second, flicking out the call. On the {j-Hearts} turn, Barer again fired, this time 500. The player thought better of it on the turn, letting his cards go.
  • The very next hand, Barer opened the pot to 300 again. Only Alex Lynskey in the small blind would call and then both players would check the {4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop. The dealer turned over a {q-Hearts} turn and Lynskey check-folded to a bet of 325 by Barer.

Despite winning these two small hands, Barer is currently sitting behind less than the starting stack.
