Aston Get Value From Birman

Paul Birman raised to 550 under the gun and Anthony Aston defended his big blind. The flop came down {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Aston check-called 850. On the turn the {8-Hearts} showed up and Aston lead out for 1,350. Birman called.

The river brought out the {10-Spades} and Aston bet 2,550. Birman made the call was mucked when Aston showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. He later claimed to have had {A-}{J-}. Aston climbs up to almost twice the starting stack while Birman also has more than what everyone started with.

No Nobu For Sam

Sam Razavi has just been knocked out in a classic coin flip situation. After losing chips early he was looking to double up with pocket queens, but things went the opposite way.

Razavi explained how there was a limper after which he raised to 600. A third player got involved and raised to 2,100. The action was folded back around to Razavi who three-bet to 4,800. His opponent moved all in and Razavi called for his tournament life.

Like we said before, Razavi showed pocket queens. The other hand needed for a classics coin flip is {A-}{K-}, and that happened to be the hand of his opponent. The windowcard was a queen, but maximum pain was reached when the two other cards gave Razavi's opponent a straight. No board pair on the turn and river, and Razavi was knocked out.

Razavi, a big fan of amazing food, jokingly said that he was going to try the curry place up in the food court at Crown tonight. No Nobu for Razavi this week who will be back for more poker during the PokerStars ACOP Macau next week. Ismaeel Razavi is still doing good with around 30,000 chips in front of him.

Guillen Gets Caught

On a {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} board Team PokerStars Pro Angel Guillen bet 4,900 into his sole opponent. For a while it seemed like his opponent was folding, and Guillen made a move looking to muck his hand. He smiled, but eventually his bet was called.

Guillen tapped the table in defeat and showed {5-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. His opponent turned over {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and raked in this pot. Even though Guillen lost one, he's still doing quite well in the third level of play.

Double Float Works For Huang

We just got word from a big pot between Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang and Jackson Zheng. Zheng had put in a four-bet pre flop with {A-}{6-}, and Huang called with {Q-}{9-}.

Both players had a lot of history together, and Huang decided to float on a {K-}{J-}{7-} flop. On the turn a {6-} showed up and Huang called another bet. The river was a very pretty looking {10-} which gave Huang a straight. Zheng moved all in and Huang called tabling the winning hand.

Zheng was knocked out and Huang now has a big stack to play around with.

McLean's Kings Cracked

In a blind battle Luke McLean just found himself in a very good spot to gather some chips. McLean held {K-Spades}{K-Clubs} versus the player in the big blind who looked very disappointed as he turned over {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}.

The flop brought {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} and McLean seemed rather safe. But then the {A-Hearts} on the turn hit and his opponent took the lead. The river brought the {5-Hearts} and McLean paid off the 8,550 chips his opponent had.

McLean is back down to around the starting stack at a table with two other very tough opponents. Liam O'Rourke has gathered around 46,000 while Joel Feldman dropped a bit, but is still on 40,000 chips.

Hachem's Late Again

Yesterday Joe Hachem showed up after the fourth level of play and amassed a huge 111,800-chip stack within a few levels. His brother Tony joined the action today and he's trying a similar stunt. Tony sat down after the third level and managed to get himself up to 33,000 already.

Tony came close to a very big score this year at the WSOP when he finished 10th in the $10,000 6-Max event for $75,299. This event was ultimately won by October Nine finalist Greg Merson who took home $1,136,197. Tony's biggest result came back in 2011 when he finished 37th in the WSOP Main Event for just under $200,000.

Speidel Can't Dodge The Flush Draw

Aussie Millions Main Event champion Oliver Speidel is no longer with us. He lost his final chips with pocket kings, and Tony Hachem explained what happened.

Speidel raised pre flop and found one caller. The flop brought out {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{J-Hearts} and after a bet and a raise the money went in. Speidel was up against a flush draw, and a third spade hit on the river.

Speidel's tournament run was short lived, as he didn't make it into the second break.
