Day 1b Started
After a great Day 1A here at the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Melbourne Main Event it's time for the second flight. A big number of players, 186, showed up for Day 1A. Even though Day 1B is expected to be a little smaller it's still expected to break last year's total number of 311 by a clear margin.
We expect to see plenty of big Australian and international poker stars today. Among other APPT Melbourne winner Sam Razavi is bound to take a shot at back-to-back titles here at the Crown Casino. Tony Hachem and both Team PokerStars Pros Bryan Huang and Angel Guillen are expected to play as well.
Today will consist of eight one-hour levels and no dinner break. Play will finish around 9:00 PM local time, and survivors from today and yesterday will return tomorrow at noon local time.
Level: 1
Blinds: 50/100
Ante: 0
The cards are in the air and we will be looking for the tables that are in action already! The room seems to be filled up nicely, and the numbers look to be good once again!
While you wait for the action to get started, check out Lynn Gilmartin's tour around the newest part of Crown Melbourne, where there are plenty of places to drown your sorrows over a beer or two if you happen to end your Main Event early.
After a first look around the room we found the following players.

We've spotted two Team PokerStars Pros in today's event, one from Singapore and one all the way from Mexico. Bryan Huang is a regular in all the APPT and ANZPT events, and his best result came back in 2008 when he finished third on the APPT Macau Main Event. Huang has been a regular on the poker scene for many years as he will try to make a deep run here in Melbourne.
Angel Guillen is best known for his big successes on the Latin American Poker Tour with three top three finishes, one of which was a victory. On top of that he was the first ever Mexican WSOP bracelet winner back in 2009. As off today Guillen has amassed around $1.3 million in live tournament earnings.

Bryan Huang limped for 100 after which the player to his left raised to 400. The big blind called and so did Huang.
The flop brought out and Huang check-called a 650-chip bet. On the turn the action was heads up, and Huang checked again when the showed up. His opponent bet 1,000 and the Team PokerStars Pro called.
The river brought out the and both players checked. Huang mucked when he was shown . Huang loses a little early on, but he's still all smiles here on Day 1B of the ANZPT Melbourne Main Event.

Sam Razavi took down APPT Melbourne back in August for A$326,125, and he's back for more! This time he brought reinforcements to secure another Razavi victory as his brother Ismaeel also entered the event.
The Razavi's came into Melbourne late last night after an early morning flight from Thailand.
"We booked a hostel because we knew they would come wake us up," Razavi said referring to his late arrival in the APPT event last August. The two Brits were woken up in time and joined the fun in the first level.
