Time to Continue the ANZPT Auckland Journey

Overall leader, Amant Nauhria
Overall leader, Amant Nauhria

Over the last three days 213 players have sat at the tables of the SKYCITY Auckland Casino for the first stop on Season 6 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour. Now, as we begin Day 2 of the ANZPT Auckland Main Event, only 104 are still in contention to go all the way.

It was yesterday’s Day 1 flight that would be the biggest of the week and it was yesterday’s chip leader who would finish with the most chips. Leading the way at the beginning of Day 2 is Amant Nauhria with 107,200 in chips.

Nauhria is followed closely by Day 1b chip leader Anesone Bragouits, while plenty of talented players such as Eric Chang, Steven Zhou, Daniel Levy, Slade Fisher, Jan Suchanek, Dean Blatt, Cole Swannack, Koray Turker, last year’s ANZPT Auckland third-place finisher Pravin Harji, New Zealand’s lone WSOP gold bracelet winner Simon Watt and Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang are also still in contention.

There is a long way to go before someone takes home NZ$110,760 upon being crowned the champion, but the journey has to start somewhere and today the journey will see ten levels play out, which will hopefully get us somewhere around the final two tables.

Be sure to keep your computer/iPad/iPhone/Smart phone screens locked to PokerNews today as we bring you all the live coverage from the penultimate day of ANZPT Auckland action! It all begins at 12.15 p.m. local time
