Welcome to the penultimate day of play here at the third stop on Season 5 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour.
Today will see the 33 surviving players become just a final table of nine. Before that happens we will burst through the bubble and into the 24 money-paying positions. The min-cash is worth $3,900, but nine players today will be going home empty handed.
One player who is unlikely to go home with no cash for their time is James Broom. A huge day at the felt yesterday saw Broom accumulate a 317,300-chip stack. With Broom's decorated resume on both the live and online felts, he will certainly be the one to beat on Day 3.
Be sure to check out the full Day 3 table draw earlier in the blog, while the top ten chip stacks can be seen below.

Just a couple of minutes into the play and we have lost our first player. We didn't catch the action, but we did catch today's short stack Tristan Bain walking out of the tournament area.

David Boyd is the next player to find himself on the rail after a short day here on Day 3. Boyd's final hand saw all his chips go in the middle on a flop against Dejan Divkovic. Boyd held and would need some help against Divkovic's .
The turn and the river were no help and Boyd was sent packing several places away from the money.

Our 2011 Aussie Millions Main Event champ has just found the rail short of making the money here in the ANZPT Perth Main Event.
Gorr's final hand saw him all in holding on a flop. Gorr was up against Michael Feizpour, who held . Unfortunately for Gorr, a turn and an weren't what he was looking for and that was all she wrote. Gorr said a warm goodbye to his table mates and can now go enjoy his day in Perth.

Tu Le started the day as one of the shortest stacks, but has since found some good fortune to double up and then eliminate Emanuel Seal.
The final hand of Seal's ANZPT Perth saw Seal all-in preflop holding and he was coming up against the of Le. When the dealer spread out a board, Seal was sent home, while Le is now prospering with just under the average stack.

Nigel Brine was unlucky to see his all-in preflop holding run into the of Robert Forward. Brine would get even unluckier from there, with the leaving him all but drawing dead. The turn and river weren't what Brine was looking for and it was all over.
We are now down to three tables of nine and just three spots off the money!
