Day 2 Completed
What was once 66 players is now just 23 as the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event is moving ever-closer to a final table. Leading the way after an exciting Day 2 is Jonathan Bredin with a monster stack of 212,400.
At the beginning of the day there were a huge amount of notable names in contention to go all the way. However, it isn’t always a happy ending for poker players as Oliver Gill, Matt Wakeman, Tom Grigg and Jeff Rossiter were just a few of those to be eliminated throughout the day.
Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang was another one of Day 2’s casualties. Huang started the day as the chip leader, but quickly found himself with a short stack before eventually falling to the rail late in the action. Huang was also joined on the rail by the reigning ANZPT Queenstown champion Dave Allan.
Another one of the players to be eliminated on Day 2 was [Removed:17] as all his chips went to the eventual chip leader in Bredin. It was simply a massive flip that would secure the lead for Bredin and terminate Yan’s chances in Queenstown. Despite suffering from Cerebral Palsy, Bredin has been able to rumble with the best of them here in Queenstown. Having limited use of one arm and impeded speech, Bredin has the aid of a special iPad and a carer to communicate his decisions. It has been remarkable to watch and Bredin will certainly be an inspiration to others in a similar situation who want to play poker at an elite level.
Some of those who will be joining Bredin on the penultimate day of the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event include last year’s ANZPT Auckland champion Geoff Smith, Kiwi grinder Jackson Zheng and prominent Aussies Daniel Laidlaw and Daniel Neilson. Also still in contention is Ricky Kroesen as he will be looking to fare even better than he did in last year's ANZPT Queenstown Main Event when he finished in 4th place. Amazingly Kroesen was all in for 3,250 during the first level of the day, but managed to finish with a very healthy 124,900.
Be sure to check out all the end-of-day chip counts and the Day 3 table draw in the live reporting blog below. Tomorrow will begin at 12.30 p.m. local time and play down to a final table, so make sure to join us then for more ANZPT Queenstown action!

The tournament clock has been paused and the players have been told they will each play three more hands before calling it a night. There are exactly 24 players remaining right now and Jonathan Bredin is the chip leader. Stay tuned to find out any last-minute fireworks, all the end-of-day chip counts and the Day 3 table draw.
The reigning ANZPT Queenstown champion Dave Allan has just been eliminated. We didn't catch the hand, but we are told that Allan jammed all in preflop for around 26,000 and Chiu Yeung Lee tanked for well over five minutes before calling with . Allan held and couldn't find a lucky third six to survive.

Team PokerStars Pro Bryan Huang was down to ten big blinds and moved them all in from the cutoff with king-seven to attempt to steal the blinds and antes. Unfortunately for Huang, his opponent in the small blind found ace-king and made the call. An ace from space landed on the flop and that was all she wrote. Huang is out as his run of final tables here in Queenstown comes to an end.

With just a short while left on Day 2 of the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event, Jonathan Bredin is easily the chip leader. He just eliminated [Removed:17] in one of those hands that will go down as "the biggest of the tournament so far."
It started with Bredin opening to 3,600 from middle position. Folded around to [Removed:17] in the big blind and he would three-bet to 9,600. Back on Bredin and he four-bet to 15,600. Yan then five-bet to 29,000 and it was back on Bredin, who moved all in. Yan made a fairly quick call and a huge pot was created.
At this point the players were unaware whom had the most chips, but it was certainly very close with both players having six-figure stacks. Check out the hole cards below.
Yan:
Bredin:
The board ran out , meaning Bredin had won the massive pot. Once the stacks were counted down it Bredin had Yan covered by a small amount and the rest is history.

There was a little bit of a commotion over on Andrew Forsman's table, so we went to investigate. We aren't sure of the action prior to our arrival, but what we can tell you is that Forsman was all in for 25,700 on a flop and Lukas Byrns was in the tank. Interestingly, there was already around 90,000 in the middle at this point and Byrns had Forsman covered. Eventually Byrns opted to fold and sent the massive pot to Forsman.
As he raked in his new chips Forsman tabled .

Jeff Rossiter has been battling with a short stack for most of the day but his battle has now come to an end with [Removed:17] claiming his scalp.
Rossiter recently three-bet jammed all in preflop but Yan beat him into the pot with to have Rossiter dominated holding . The board bricked out to leave Yan to take down the pot and end Rossiter’s run in the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event.
