There are 23 players who woke up this morning, took a deep breath of New Zealand's icy cold mountain air and are preparing for one thing only - to make it to the final table of the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event.
Leading the way with the largest chip stack of all is Aussie Jonathan Bredin. Despite having the only chip stack in excess of 200,000 in chips, Bredin is faced with some very tough competition including Daniel Neilson, Daniel Laidlaw, Luke Brabin, Jackson Zheng, 2012 ANZPT Auckland champion Geoff Smith and last year's ANZPT Queenstown 4th place finisher Ricky Kroesen.
By the end of the night there will only be 9 players remaining and the final table will take place tomorrow. However, before then we must burst through the bubble and award the top 15 players with at least little bit of cash for their time. Every player who makes the money is guaranteed NZ$5,950. All the players will be looking to stay in contention for the NZ$93,600 first-place prize and of course become the latest ANZPT champion.
Today's action begins at 12.30 p.m. local time and we will be here all day long bringing you live updates. Be sure to stay tuned and find out who makes it to the ANZPT Queenstown final table!

The players are in their seats and the cards are in the air here on Day 3 of the ANZPT Queenstown Main Event. Today the blinds kick off at 1,000-2,000 with a 300-chip ante and the plan is to play down to a final table. We think that will take somewhere around six levels, but we will have to wait and see.
We arrived at the action with a big pot already in the middle and with Jackson Zheng and Michael Chon on the river of a board. Chon had led for 17,000 here and the action was on Zheng.
"If we are heads-up, can i speak to him in Chinese?" asked Zheng to the floor.
Zheng was told he was only allowed to speak in English. Eventually Zheng called and Chon looked like he didn't want to show his cards. Chon's was tabled and Zheng scooped up the pot with his .

It's been a fairly slow start so far. The only things of any interest to occur is that 2012 ANZPT Auckland champion Geoff Smith arrived late as he was out bungee jumping and Lukas Byrns three-bet jammed from the small blind on his table, but received no action.
The play will pick up soon enough, we are sure.
Daniel Neilson is now the chip leader. He won a couple of small pots early and has just recently scooped up a fairly large one, courtesy of former chip leader Jonathan Bredin.
The hand started with Neilson opening from the hijack preflop and receiving a call from Bredin in the big blind. Both players checked the flop and a was dealt on the turn. This time Bredin led for 4,400 and it didn't take long for Neilson to raise it up to 13,600. Bredin made the call and a completed the board.
Bredin checked the river and Neilson bet 28,500. Bredin made the call and Neilson quickly tabled for a turned set. Bredin showed his , which went into the muck.
