Huang Can't Handle the Heat

Diwei "Brian" Huang turned up the heat, but he was the one who got burned. Huang made it 2,200 to go before the flop and was called by the big blind. The flop was big and connected, coming {J-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts}. It elicited a quick check from the big blind and a cautious bet of 1,500 from Huang. The big blind check-raised to 8,000, prompting a snap-muck from Huang.

Justin Jung
Justin Jung
Justin Jung has just eliminated another opponent to continue his surge up the chip count leaderboard.

Jung took {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades} to war against a short-stacked opponent holding {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and when the board ran out {3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{Q-Clubs} Jung collected the pot to climb up above 55,000 chips.

Here Comes Eddie!

Eddie Sabat
Eddie Sabat
A player under the gun opened with a raise to 3,200 and Eddie Sabat was the lone caller in position.

They saw a flop of {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} where the action was checked to Sabat who fired out 3,000. His opponent check-raised to 6,000 and Sabat made the call.

The turn landed the {7-Spades} and the UTG player fired out 6,000. Sabat snap-called as a big pot was brewing.

The river brought the {4-Spades} and there was a long pause as the UTG had checked without Sabat realizing the action was on him. After the confusion was resolved, Sabat fired out 15,300 forcing a quick fold from his opponent.

The 2008 APPT Macau champion is gathering momentum and now sits with around 58,000 chips.

Nothing but the Nuts

Hori Katsuyoshi must not have believed his ears. Katsuyoshi had position In a raised pot against a single opponent. When the flop came down {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {9-Hearts}, Katsuyoshi's opponent announced, "All in" and put his last 7,000 chips into thepot. Katsuyoshi called in a shot, tabling {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} for flopped quads. His opponent had only {A-Clubs} {5-Hearts} and was drawing dead.

Katsuyoshi has moved up to about 54,000 chips as a result of the hand.

Jan Van Dyk will be right back.
We can't leave Jan Van Dyk's table for even three minutes. In the last five minutes, his stack has magically grown from 70,000 to about 108,000 after taking out two different players. Van Dyk is feeling so confident about the state of his tournament right now that he is taking a mid-level cigarette break with some friends over at a roulette pit.

Saab Still Strong

David Saab
David Saab
David Saab is trying to educate his opponents. If only they would listen! Saab, sitting in the big blind, called a minimum-raise made by the small blind, James Suen. Both players checked a flop that came down {J-Spades} {6-Clubs} {2-Clubs}. On the turn {4-Diamonds}, Suen reached for chips.

"Don't bluff! Don't bluff!" warned Saab. Suen followed through anyway, making a curiously small bet of 1,500. Saab called. The river fell {8-Clubs}, and now Suen made it 6,100 to go, a pot-sized bet.

"Do you know what that bet mean?" asked Saab. "It means flush or no pair. I think no pair. I call." Suen turned over {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. "No good," said Saab. He showed {8-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} for a rivered two pair.

Ivan Tan Eliminated; Carron On Fire!

Ivan Tan Eliminated
Ivan Tan Eliminated
Patrick Carron is on a rush after just eliminating two opponents in consecutive hands, including 2007 APPT Macau runner up Ivan Tan.

In the first hand Alec Milam moved his short stack all in from under the gun and Carron re-shoved next to act. The table folded around and Carron's {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} were in great shape against Milam's {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}. The board bricked out {3-Spades}{9-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to send Milam to the exit.

A few moments later Ivan Tan had his last chips in the middle with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} as Carron woke up with {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}.

Tan was calling for an ace or a king and was thrilled to see the flop fall {3-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{2-Hearts} to give him the lead. The turn was the {2-Clubs} but the river brought Carron a two-outer with the {Q-Clubs}.

"Flush!" exclaimed Tan pointing to his {A-Clubs} however Carron had made a full house to take the pot and eliminate Tan from the event. Carron is now up to 61,000 chips.
