Sabat Slowrolls Set?

Eddie Sabat
Eddie Sabat
On a flop of {8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, the pot was already sizable when the player in seat one pushed all of his chips into the middle, forcing 2008 APPT Macau champion Eddie Sabat to a huge decision for most of his chips.

Sabat went into the tank saying "Have you got a straight?". His opponent was motionless or perhaps wasn't proficient in English, but Sabat plonked his chips into the middle to make the call anyway.

The player in seat one flipped {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} but Sabat had the goods with {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} for a set of eights. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and river the {Q-Diamonds} and Sabat eliminates his opponent to jump up to 28,000 chips.

"Was that a slowroll?" Sabat queried the table as he raked in the chips.

"Not really," replied Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, "but if it was against me then it was definitely a slowroll!"
