Davis Heads for the Rail

Yoshihiro Tasaka
Yoshihiro Tasaka
Another massive pot between Tim Davis and Yoshihiro Tasaka has resulted in Davis' elimination from the tournament and has cemented Tasaka's status as the runaway chip leader. With the board showing {2-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}, Tasaka checked to Davis, who made it 10,000 to go. Tasaka check-raised to 42,000, a pressure bet to Davis who had only 45,000 behind his original bet. He moved all in after about a minute of thought and Tasaka quickly called.

Tasaka: {7-Hearts} {7-Spades}
Davis: {K-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

It was a similar situation to the previous hand between the pair, but the roles were reversed. Now Davis had the flush draw and Tasaka had the made hand. The turn {A-Hearts} helped neither player, and the river {A-Diamonds} helped both. It made the nut flush for Davis but it also paired the board and allowed Tasaka to make a full house. He won the hand and sent Davis to the rail.

Tasaka now has 170,000 chips.
