That's A Wrap!

Brian Kang = Overnight Chip Leader
Brian Kang = Overnight Chip Leader
As we all catch our breath, an incredible Day 2 of the 2008 PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour event here in Seoul, South Korea has come to an end...and what an exciting end to the day it was!

We started out with 83 hopefuls, with some big names falling early including PokerStars players Van Marcus, Bertrand 'ElkY' Grospellier, Celina Lin and Ivan Tan. Players dropped away at a steady pace with the Japanese contigent going strong led by Yoshihiro Tasaka who emerged as one of our chip leaders during the day.

Eddie Sabat couldn't go back-to-back and overnight chip leader Jan Van Dyk capitulated as we approached the business end of the tournament.

Undoubtedly the story of the day is with Australian David Saab. If Saab can talk up a storm, then he created nothing short of a hurricane with his play on the felt. He looked to be unstoppable at times during the day as he led the field and was in control of his table. However some devastating blows on the money bubble saw him crash out of the tournament in sensational fashion. PokerNews' own Melissa Castello caught up with David moments after his elimination from this event, so stay tuned to our video gallery for this must-see interview.

The final sixteen players have bagged and tagged their chips and will return tomorrow to battle it out until we crown a champion. Notable players include Wooka Kim, Diwei "Brian" Huang who will be looking to repeat his final table appearance from APPT Macau, and PokerStars professional Dan Schreiber who will be looking to better his 8th place finish from this event last year.

They will be chasing Brian Kang who captured the big scalps of Celina Lin and David Saab during the day to end the day as our chip leader with over 300,000 chips.

Join us once again a 1 p.m. local time tomorrow as the 2008 APPT Seoul event crowns a new poker champion! See you then!
