A massive crowd of railbirds has gathered around the high rollers final table to watch Jarred Graham and George Moussa battle heads-up for the title. When we popped in to check on the action, the two were neck-and-neck in chips.
As we mentioned earlier, the tournament is paying the top five spots. Here's a quick look at the results thus far:
3rd: Michel Bouskila - $66,300
4th: Jonathan Karamalikis - $44,850
5th: Bill Jordanou - $31,200
6th: Danny Huynh
7th: Warwick Mirzikinian
8th: In Wook Choi
We stepped up to table 21 in the midst of a massive pot that had over 40,000 in it with the board reading . Tom Grigg had checked to Brendan Edmonds who had a 28,000 bet slid out on the table in front of him. Grigg thought things through for about a minute before finally talking himself into making the call. Edmonds flipped over for nothing but air, and Grigg showed for the winning full house.
The hand puts Grigg at around 120,000, and leaves Edmonds with about 25,000.
With no one busting quickly to open a seat for Leo Boxell, he's been placed to the immediate right of Sam Youssef. The seat order on the right of the table starting with seat #7 goes Boxell, Youssef, David Steicke, then Wooka Kim.
The tournament staff just broke Leo Boxell's table, but there was a miscount in the players left. With the miscount, Boxell had nowhere to go as there were no open seats in the room. Currently, Boxell is standing at his old table waiting for a seat to open if a player busts quickly. If that doesn't happen, Boxell is going to be placed at the table containing David Steicke and Wooka Kim and make it a ten-handed table for a little while.
All of this happened the hand after Boxell busted Minh Nguyen from the tournament. Boxell held and Nguyen held when the two players got all in on a flop of . The turn was the and the river the .
PokerStars sponsored player Amanda De Cesare opened for an unknown amount from the cutoff seat before a player moved all in for 7,475 more than her raise. De Cesare made the call and rolled over . Her opponent held a dominated .
The board ran out to bust the all-in player and bump De Cesare up to 38,000.
The tournament clock has been paused while the remaining 75 players go on their last 10-minute break of the day. When they return, we'll play just one more level before we call it a day.
